The citron is is a very thick skinned citrus fruit with a dry pulp which is used primarily for its preserved rind in cooking or, more often, baking. It is one of the oldest citrus fruits and supposedly also had medicinal uses in ancient times. </p> <p>As a novice painter, chartreuse is the color I get when I mix yellow with green to produce a bright light yellow-green shade which resembles the greenish liqueur called Chartreuse. Depending on the amount of green added, the color can skew to either a yellow chartreuse or a green chartreuse.
