I'm a fan of mules/slides, as they are so easy on, easy off. I reach for these all the time, even when it's snowing. Also ballet flats go with both skirts and pants so you don't have to think too hard with them.

I really like Liz's suggestion above. That is a great thread!
However, as a MOTG myself, I would suggest loafers. The burgundy loafer is classic, and it is the "it" color this season.
p.s. I'm a long time lurker, but this is my first comment-ever! Hi!

How about looking at Sveta's thread here? I learned so much from seeing her variety of shoes (that all served different purposes) and how she went about adding more.

Ballet flats? There are supportive ones that can be comfy but still skew a little dressier than sneakers. Or fun low-profile sneakers, to wear with jeans?

Slipper flats are very in this season if you like that look.

Thanks Fern I hadn't thought of that. Mostly with jeans and perhaps the very occasional casual skirt.

A "shoe", like an oxford? Could be very understated. Are you looking for something to wear with skirts as well as jeans?

Hi all - longish post: I am a WAHM and MOTG. I am going for a casual look but still on trend - have carefully reviewed the formulas. I am working on footwear at the moment. Angie did a great post on a sandal collection so I am set with those. I am looking for comfortable but casual shoes that I can run around in but still look ok. I had ordered purple runners but they were too large and were returned. I have right now : new Veronica Frye boots, black ankle boots, a heeled black boot and one pair of higher pumps (rarely worn due to lifestyle). I purged everything else. I realize I have an understated style so if I buy anything too bold I likely won't wear it. Something is missing but am struggling to fill it. Should I get some runners (Joseph S or Converse) or the pumps perhaps that I posted yesterday? Or maybe something like sketcher style runners. Advice and suggestions most welcome. Thanks!
