My mother buys me odd clothes (I don't mean this piece is odd, but neither is it classic or a basic), or sometimes tries to pass on things she bought for herself and realized didn't work, and after a few discussions I feel no obligation to wear or keep them anymore. I'm assuming you have tried it on with some of the items in your closet of course.
