I like 2 the best - and I like the pink sweatshirt.

I would be interested to see if a higher rise and slim but not skinny leg jean would look like.

I think with jeans you have to go with how it feels - and you are supposed to buy them more fitting and then they will give a bit.

I own three pairs of jeans - one slim/straight, one flared and one white Mom style. I have two old pairs of skinnies that I might pull out again in winter for weekend outings to watch sports.

Jess, I think the jeans in #2 have a different look than the jeans in #3/4. The jeans in #2 are a dark wash and seem more classic. The jeans in #3/4 have a more casual look. In the pictures, they both seem to fit.
Finding the right jeans is difficult. I have to try on many pairs before I find ones that work for me.

Thank you all for the helpful feedback!

It’s good to know that finding the right jeans isn’t always so easy and trying many on will help me. That the top can also help how they look, and that with my body type I can wear all rises but easiest would be high rise, and that a relaxed skinny can still look good for my body. This is all helpful Of course a tailor can fix minor fit issues if I find a pair I really love. On Poshmark I can find jeans for cheap so I can find my sizes easier.

Interestingly enough #3 and 4 are the same jeans, my leg was bent in one photo opposed to standing straight in the other so it made more wrinkles as I moved. Also no jeans needed a belt they all fit my waist good, I only wore one to try and make the outfit less boring.

I like the fit of #2 best too. 1 looks too tight and 3/4 has heavy whiskering at the crotch area. Agreeing about trying on many pairs though!

Jess I like #2 best too, I also like the top you are wearing with #2 too - a great colour to wear with denim. You have a great figure and look lovely in jeans, so all of these are good. But to my eye #3 & 4 are baggy and with denim may stretch even more.

I like wearing skinny jeans too as they are the most comfortable on me and I am not too concerned about being fashion forward in my style. I like to wear my jeans with blouses and statement shoes. This is what I wore yesterday which is pretty typical of how I style my skinny jeans.

Jess, I'm in the minority here in that I still wear skinny jeans, and I'd like to recommend the H&M premium quality shaping skinnies. They are stretchy but hold their shape well, and don't bag out like some other skinnies I have. (I don't really notice a shaping effect but that's fine with me.)
You mentioned you are tall, so the regular length would probably be more of an ankle length for you, but if you don't mind that maybe give them a try?
Also, if you prefer low rises you can probably find preowned ones on ebay, since many people are getting rid of their low rise jeans.

I like #2 out of these options. If you want to update your look, I would consider a higher rise, as it is more current. I think you are tall? If so, you should be able to find a higher rise that will look amazing.
Most people - myself included - find jeans the hardest thing to fit. It is exhausting to try them all on. I find the sales assistants at Levis can be very helpful - a good one will size you up on sight, and they will know which fits will work with your body type. If you find a pair that fits well, I'd buy two washes :)

Jess, honestly I’m not crazy about the fit os these jeans. I think you could find better.
I don’t wear skinny jeans but I used to wear slim cut jeans. My thighs are slim and I had difficulty finding jeans that are not baggy in that area. Unfortunately, it takes long time to find a brand that suits one’s body. I liked Joe’s slim ankle jeans. Heard a lot positive reviews from friends who wear skinnies about Lucky Brand. If you have Nordstrom Rack near by, I suggest you try jeans there.

For some reason, all of a sudden my eyes are better! Today I can see the bagginess in the third pair. I don’t feel it looks bad, but I know that it might be uncomfortable. Angie is right about #2. I still like #1 a lot, but discomfort is seriously out... this is why I rarely wear real jeans. They’re just too uncomfortable for me when the fit looks right.

Jess it’s interesting that 3&4 are the same, because from the pictures the fit looks different...camera angles and all that I guess. Of this group I personally prefer #3, but on fit I almost always defer to Angie, so I’d go with #2.

Hi Jess, I don’t tend to comment because as I said to you once before, to me one pair of jeans looks much like another and I realise that to forum members who love jeans this is practically sacrilegious. I find it hard to see much difference between these 3 pairs. I think I like the third pair the best but it’s just an impression, I don’t understand why that looks best to me. Proportions?
However I am happy for you that you no longer feel the need to hide away in baggy clothing.

Finding the perfect jeans is so so hard. Sometimes you have to try several cuts across different brands before you find ones that work - especially if you are difficult to fit. I haven't fit jeans off the rack since I was a kid. My build is such that SOMETHING in them needs to be altered, always. And different cuts fit differently than the label often says - some skinnies are too tight; some straights are too skinny; some bootcuts are too flared. My wise tailor says, find ones that fit your widest point - the rest can be adjusted.

Take your measurements, or have someone take them for you. Waist, upper hip, lower hip, thigh, calf, ankle opening, inseam. Use those measurements when you shop. Book an appointment with a Nordstrom stylist and tell them you specifically need help finding jeans. Try on everything until you find what works. Try designer brands. If you like cuts or washes that aren't available at retail, try thrift shops. If you find designer ones that work, and you don't want to pay designer prices, look at places like Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Rack, or even secondhand shops like ebay, ThredUP, or poshmark.

The perfect jean is out there, you just have to hunt for them.

@Jess, skinny jeans is not my thing - they never fit me or showcase my body to the best. I did a lot of straight jeans that gave my small behind more definition and some bootcut/flare jeans that fit in thigh area better than skinny on me.
You probably could try other styles of jeans just to see if they fit and flatter your slim and tall body. The pic #2 is dressier on you - I'd go with that.
The search for perfect jeans is never ending.

@kkards
I want to find good fitting skinny jeans, rise isn’t important but I tend to lean towards mid rise usually. I don’t have a particular style, belts are just a small part of that.
I’d just like to know what looks best on me out of the photos, and in #3/4 is the thigh too baggy? The feedback helps me to find the right jeans.
It’s discouraging nobody ever says they love anything I wear. How do you expect me to feel on a fashion forum with little positive feedback or engaging posts. Even your topics you ask for feedback and get positive comments people like what you wear. It tells me I am probably not fitting in with style expectations here. Oh well I’m just me. :/
I agree that one pair too tight is a big no! I understand about the tailoring but I cannot do that for every pair, and yes I will do more searching.

jess... it also maybe that there are not as many people on the forum Friday nights/ Saturday morning...
and no ones style is a lost cause...but really other than your love of belts, i'm not sure what your style is....
that being said...for me, the rise on these jeans is lower than what i'm wearing these days, becuause i'm finding a higher rise more "current" but that's whats important to me, but it may not be as important to you. for me, i never buy anything thats not comfortable, and if its to tight in the fitting room, for me i'd leave it in the fitting room. and a tailor maybe needed to get "the pefect fit". i have alot of my pants taken in the waist and/or shorten....and yes, you will have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find the prince....

Juniors would be too short on me, I have tried drying them but the ones here that start off looking nice bag out slightly after a few hours.

@Nemosmom
I am looking for good fitting skinny jeans and even relaxed skinny but it appeared that in my thigh area it bags out and I wasn’t sure if that was supposed to be how it looks? (Photo 3/4)
The first pair is too small and they were pulled up all the way.

I really wish I got more comments for help I think the majority here are just avoiding me, maybe think my style is a lost cause :(
My body size/height and shape is so hard to find the right fit and I don’t have the money for tailored/expensive brands that would fit me. I used to hide my body under semi baggy clothing and now I want to try some more form fitting jeans and tops but it’s so difficult to find anything right

Have you tried junior sizes? If you try them may need size up. You could also keep trying different bands. Of these I like the third pair best, although I am biased as not being a fan of the distressing on the first pair. The second pair look ok to me too. The lighter wash just seems more your style. Jeans can shrink in the dryer or bag out when worn all day, so try any you like by wearing them for several hours.

In my previous topic I had mixed opinions on how these jeans look on me so I need more feedback.

#1 is a size 4 jegging but it honestly is too tight on me to wear a long time, but I like how it looks and sizing up it was too baggy in the thigh and waist.
#2 Is a size 6 relaxed fit jegging but might be too baggy?
#3/4 Is also a size 6 but skinny, it fit my waist but the thigh looks slightly baggy (maybe).

Why can’t they make in between size 5 ughh.
:(

I can’t seem to find the perfect fit jean, do they all fit me good and I am too picky or does one pair look better than the rest?
