I do not have Cole Haan sneakers but a pair of low wedges. In general, I feel that the brand is a bit on the narrow side in a regular size. Have you tried the next size up? They were fine for me - I have a straight up wide forefoot in a 6.5. I used to consider it on the narrow side of medium, but too narrow hasn't been working well for me these days. I put in a replacement insole that was thicker to take up more room, but I needed to take room on the top of the shoe. So my experience is slightly wide, but I wouldn't say more than that.
