Maybe if it says "not lined", they mean "not lined with fabric"?</p> <p>With leather shoes, I have always had the experience that they are either lined with fabric (sometimes for warmth), or lined with thinner or softer leather. However, I recently got a pair of <a href="http://www.amazon.de/Jonnys-Kassel-JY-6934-Damen-Stiefel/dp/B0051YM9GI/ref=pd_sim_a_11">Jonny's Kassel boots</a>, and they are only lined with thin leather in the foot area, and the upper inch of the shaft - the whole shaft area is unlined, which surprised me a little (I'm still keeping them, super comfortable and great boots for spring). So to sum up: No idea! :D<br /> I always assumed there should be some sort of lining. I think if the shoes didn't have a thick outer leather, or were uncomfortable to wear without socks, then it would be a deal breaker.</p> <p>Looking forward to more answers!
