Kirti, I really think it depends on the skirt. A heavier fabric with a wider waistband seems to work best for me (and I only have one pleated skirt). Otherwise, it's not enough to girdle the lower belly. But you don't seem to have much of one!

Also, I checked out your blog and love it! Living in France must be such a great adventure in culture, fashion and life... I hope you will share more of French fashion as you spy it on the streets or in the shops.

You could always style it with a lightweight fitted jacket, something that will end just below the top of your hip. Then you'd have the contrast of the floaty pleats coming away from the more structured top. I think it's worth a try!

Adorable skirt! I am a little sensitive about my thickening waistline (darn menopause!) and I know that skirts without waistbands and also skirts where the pleats are stitched and LOWER (if get you get what I mean) can work for me.

I have pretty slim midsection but I would stay away from this style: it seems to have too much volume at the waist.
However as Rute said: try it on, take a picture and post it. Maybe it will be a pleasant surprise...

Lovely skirt! Love Naf Naf. It depends on the skirt and where does the volume starts, but this skirt seems to add a lot of volume to the midsection and so, not a good ideia.
Can you try it and post a photo?
Sometimes we have surprises and I never say no before trying!

I tried this pleated skirt on a few weeks ago and really thought it was adorable - http://www.nafnaf.com/fr/jupe-.....l&. And now it is down to €11,90 which is dirt cheap!

However, my midsection is where I carry my weight (tummy) and I'm wondering whether this style of skirt would work on me or make me look wider/emphasise my tummy?
