I ordered the Landsend knit in raspberry and sapphire. I think I am going to order the J Crew as well in orchid. Thank you all for the suggestions.

You're right, Viva. I have the long sleeved version which I tend to wear as a pullover (I sized up) and I wear it mostly semi-tucked.

The only thing with the JCrew cashmere tee is that it is not welted and it tends to run long in the body.

Have you tried the cashmere tee from J.Crew? I have clients who LOVE it.

Land's End and possibly J. Crew.

J. Crew tends to have sleeveless and long sleeve versions; you can get a short sleeved version in cashmere.

Have you checked Lands End? They usually have a variety of basic knits.

I found a type of top that suits me perfectly. It is crew neck (which makes me feel really "safe" and comfortable). It is short sleeved and not particularly oversized or long in the body. I like it best when it ends at the top of my hip bone. I like benign colors like white, light pink, pale blue.

Unfortunately, finding it in real life has been a bit of a challenge. Has anyone seen nice quality tops like that pictured below? I am looking for a fine knit (too coarse and it looks heavy and cheap to my eye). It seems to be the perceived coarseness of the knit that turns me off the most.

I have to believe this style of top is out there. I just am not looking in the right places. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
