So many helpful responses. THANK YOU!!

MNSara, I would have loved to try on the Kenna-T blush jacket, but they didn't have my size at my store, and it's not available online. It's beautiful, but I'm not sure about the color for me.

Kerry, I knew I could count on you for candor!

VC, Thanks for your detailed reply! I'm going to hang on to the orange one and the stone one for now and try them with various things before making a decision, while also keeping a look out for a different one.

The others went back yesterday. Thanks again for your help!

The stone jacket is stunning on you and I think it would work as an indoor jacket as you have explained that's what you want. It is a beautiful color and cut on you.

Have not read the other comments yet; I would keep the stone one and the orange one. I think #1 the color isn't as flattering as it could be, and the burgundy I don't like how boxy it is in the body. I LOVE the orange on you, but it IS a statement color. The stone however is a nice neutral which I like the color on you.

I think #2 looks the best on you in terms of shape and fit - it's really amazing on you! Just that I'm not 100% certain on the colour, and whether it's all that versatile. My second choice would be #4 - I think this colour would be a bit more useful, versatile and adaptable across all seasons, and situations.

Thing is...the jacket in #2 - it's FAB on you, very flattering fit and shape. My only hesitation is the colour and whether you (or anyone, because it's a very bright non-traditional colour) could make it work.

If you have a wardrobe of mostly neutrals for fall/winter - then I'd just go ahead and get the orange jacket. It really looks great.

You know what? It might be a good idea to take several pictures of the orange jacket in #2 with various outfits, and also somewhat close-up to see how it works for your colouring and wardrobe before deciding. What do you think of this idea? The fit and shape are wonderful on you. The jacket in #4 is also quite nice, but a distant second compared to #2 imo (based on shape/fit).

I'm no help, eh? Hang onto the orange jacket in #2 and take a bunch more pictures ...it looks *great* on you, just the colour's a bit of a question until it's tried out with several outfits to see how it really works with your colouring and wardrobe. Also hang onto the beige/sand/blush-ish coloured jacket in #4 as well. Maybe you could do something like a leather jacket 'death match' like the old 'dress death matches' that I saw on the YLF forums a few years back - those were fun!

Also - I don't know exactly which "blush" moto that Angie picked up at NAS - something that was apparently not available online (and maybe Aida tried too?) - see if you can get your hands on this one to try as well - because I have a feeling this colour might be really wonderful on you.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing you narrow it all down.

editing to add: I just read your subsequent post futher down the thread, and wanted to say that the jacket in #2 (orange) is the most flattering on you and *does not* call attention in a bad way at all - if anything, it's super-flattering on your shape.

#2 and #4 fit you best, by far. They both hit at the same place on your hip -- higher than #1 and #3. If you don't keep any of them, that is what I would look for. Hitting higher on your hip makes your butt look cute and your waist tiny.

Unfortunately, I'm not crazy about the colors for #2 and #4. I am NOT a fan of orange for my own self, and also not for beige -- so please take my color opinion with that in mind. For second leather jacket, the style of #2 would be my choice, hands down. So fun and funky. Just not crazy about the color.

While I love the color of #3, I am not crazy about the fit of #3 at all, which makes it my least favorite. Something weird is going on there, the jacket is longer in front than back? And it makes your "girls" appear to sag... which is not flattering. I think the fit is just off and/or the cut is goofy.

The color of #1 is luscious on you. Honestly? If I could find #2 in the color of #1, that's what I'd invest in. But, I like my leather to be more natural color. That may just be me. Color #1 looks very rich to me.

Sorry I am not more helpful!

Wow! It's so interesting to get everybody's input!
And it's not always what I expected to hear...
Thanks so much for giving me your opinions!

I was so sure that everybody would hate #4 and say that it was soul-sucking beige! In a lot of ways it would be the most practical because it is so lightweight and can be worn as a topper in warmer weather than the others. The sleeves had put me off, but they're fixable.

For some reason I don't like #3 at all. I think it's the fit. I'd like something in this color, though. It is for sure going back.

#1 was the one that I thought would be the winner. It's the only one that works zipped up, and it really does fit me like a glove. (maybe that's not always a good thing!)
But truly, I'm not in love with it, and it certainly didn't get any love here. Going back.

I do kind of love the orange one! It feels really good on, and the color is lots of fun. But it is VERY bright, and maybe calls too much attention to my not-so-slim body...
I'll try it with some other stuff and see. If it came in red or burgundy it would be a no-brainer!

Thanks again for the knowledgeable and helpful advice- you all are the best!

I like the fit of #2 the orange best! But am not sold on the colour yet. Perhaps you can change my mind once it's styled, Marcy!

I like #4 next - perfect colour and great fit.

I like #3 next. The burgundy is a much better colour for you than acidic orange.

Return #1.

Not reading the other responses first, but my thoughts...

I'm drawn to #2 on you. I love that jacket! The cut and color are current, yet not overly trendy so I think they will transcend the moment orange is having right now.

I have a jacket with a similar collar to #1 and it is not the best for layering in an outfit -- mine pretty much just functions as outerwear. I like #3 -- especially the color -- but something about the fit is bothering me. #4 is okay, but doesn't wow me.

How do they fit closed?
Without seeing them closed, I vote keep on #2 and return the rest.
#2 Pros: It fits your the best. Cons: Very trendy color, but I can see it transitioning to a classic piece.
I am not too keen on #1, it looks too boxy for me.
#3 bulges too much in the back - that's a major pet peeve of mine.
#4 looks tight in the front yet the side and back views look roomy. I'm not sure about this one.

... and I'm not sure if I'm in the wrong, but I do happen to have a leather jacket that I specifically bought on the smallish side, to look good open, so it looks too tight if zipped up. I knew I was not going to wear it closed since I have other jackets for that. If you are OK with that - basically not having the option to close - the orange is a great size.

If you're really aiming toward indoor wearing lilke a blazer, the neckline on #1 would not work for me.

I think #2 is pretty fun, but do you have sufficient neutral supporting outfits to wear this enough? It's also pretty memorable, so does that limit how often you can wear it?

#3 is very nice, but fits more like outerwear as it is.

#4 looks good for indoor wear. It's a great soft neutral color. I'd think that the lack of lining would be okay - if you don't take off your blazer and put it on a lot.

In short, I'd vote for #2 & 4.

BUT, did you try the Kenna-T blush jacket? Also, Halogen also had a blush quilted leather Chanel-esque jacket at my store on sale in NAS, but I haven't found it online. That would be perfect for indoor wear, very soft, if you can find it and take a look at it. I think the blush would be very flattering with your coloring

@Ornella: It's funny that you thought the orange one was too loud. I guess I'm inured to bright colors. Or my love for orange is blinding me.

I like 1 and 4 best, with 4 being my favorite. I like the color (it should be very versatile) and the fit the best of them all. I think it is a keeper. 2 and 3 don't suit my fancy. Maybe that's because the collars look a little cluttered to my eye, but I like simple, streamlined shapes, so don't let my preference on that dictate your choice!

I have a very strong preference for #2 on you - I think the length and collar are more flattering than the others. As for versatility, I think orange goes SO well with an array of fall colors - rust, burgundy, teal, tan, chocolate (very nice with your hair), mustard/gold, navy... I do love me some orange, lol.

I honestly can't decide. However, I can zip up my orange moto, but the zipper stops at a weird place on my chest, before the collar spreads out. So I don't think I'll ever zip it up.

ETA Ok so I looked again I vote for the orange and the burgundy one.

I vote #2. The color looks great on you and the fit is the best among all 4. The Halogen one looks great from the front and side, but the back fit is a little wonky.

After only seeing the photos and before reading your thoughts, my favorites were #3 and #4.
#4 because is has nice rich color that looks great on you, although I'm not crazy about the back view - it gathers too much at the top of the back. And, it seems a bit long for what I'd like from the jacket. But the color is great.
#3 is nice neutral and looks very soft. Not sure about the sleeve length though.

#1 is a bit boxy for me and #2 is too bright.

Off to read your comments about them all now.

I've been looking for a leather jacket that I can wear primarily as I would a blazer or cardigan. That is; not as outerwear, but something fairly lightweight that I could wear over pants, skirts, or dresses as a "3rd piece". Not black, because I have a black one I love already.

I ended of buying SIX of them (yikes!), and I can keep one or two, or return them all if none of them work.

Here are the four contenders. The others are different sizes of the tan jacket. I think I know what I'd like to keep, but I'd like other opinions before I decide for sure.

These are not styled: I have on black slim pants and an old black t-shirt so as not to distract from the jackets themselves.

#1 is the Halogen seamed leather jacket in Luggage tan. This is the same jacket that Amy and Sunita have, one of Angie's picks.

Pros: It fits really well through the body and is a good basic color that would go with a lot.
Some people have said that the leather wasn't soft, but I thought it was fine.
Cons: The sleeves are a little fuller cut than I would like, and they're a little long on me.

#2 is the Truth & Pride perforated leather jacket in orange. This is the one that looks so great on Anna.

Pros: Great statement color, very nice soft leather, I like the neckline and collar shape.
Cons: Color could be limiting, I can zip it, but it's pretty tight when I do- not sure that matters, because I'd wear it unzipped.

#3 is the Trouvé quilted leather biker jacket in burgundy.

Pros: On-trend color, soft leather, I like the neckline.
Cons: Not sure about this color on me, or it's versatility, different panels of jacket don't match exactly, a little tight under the arms. Tight when zipped.

#4 was on sale, but not part of the anniversary sale. It's the Trouvé Crop Leather Jacket in Stone.

Pros: very lightweight (unlined)
Cons: Feels flimsy, SSB? Sleeves are too long, although they could easily be hemmed since it's unlined.

Thoughts, comments? Do I have any keepers here, or should I go back to the drawing board?
Thanks for your help!
