Thanks so much for the detailed response Angie! I felt the shirt was too short as a rule, but I was wondering if you thought she makes it work and why. Your answer makes perfect sense and is extremely helpful - as usual!

A great question.

I think here, the crotch point of the blogger's trousers are extra low and slouchy (because that trouser shape is all over the runway - it's an aspirational look). This makes the shirt look even shorter.

It's important to remember that style bloggers like to defy dressing guidelines for a cool effect. Looking a little different is highly applauded (if not as flattering) - and often a better thing than wearing outfits that are perfectly flattering. Posing in a certain way can also make proportions look more flattering than they are. You might think differently about this outfit if you saw it in motion.

So to my eye, tucking in that particular short shirt, or adding onto it's un-tucked length would improve outfit proportions. It's all very subjective :)

I hope this makes sense.

As I am browsing around the internet (procrastinating really) I saw this Glamourai post:
http://www.theglamourai.com/20.....ining.html

What do you say about her shirt length with pants? Granted she is an extraordinarily young, thin and beautiful woman, but isn't her shirt short according to usual standards (by which I mean YLF standards of course!)? I don't mean to say she doesn't look great, but I am just trying to figure out the right length for the rest of us.
