Gorgeous on you, Karie! Glad you opted for the 4. As Suz says, JCrew looks ace on you.

Thanks everyone! I actually cut the tags and wore the size 4 out the door tonight to a 31 party (home party where they sell tote bags). I styled it slightly differently than in my photos above, but not much (changed to brown shoes, fixed the shirt so you can see the striped tee underneath and added a pile of pearls). I've only worn it for a couple of hours, but it was perfect for our now cooler temps.

It's gorgeous on you, Karen. Wow. I love it best in the smaller size. You wear J. Crew SO WELL!!!!! They should have you model for them. You and Viva.

I am the type to always think the bigger size is better, but in this case, the 6 really looks too big. The arms are too voluminous and it borders on slightly sloppy. The smaller size doesn't LOOK snug at all, even when buttoned. I vote keep the 4.

The shoulders on the 4 look better to my eye. I'm assuming the 4 passes the hug/driving test? I won't ask about the sit down test because you said you wouldn't be buttoning it.

I see. Yes, J Crew is often designed for straight figures. This is why I have nothing at all from J Crew, BR or Express fit me better. Again if it feels snug it doesn't look it, and you can always leave the bottom unbuttoned as you say.

The slight snugness is in the hips, and only when I button the second button, but I wouldn't wear it closed anyway. This style blazer in lighter weight fabrications fits me perfectly in size 4, but the bulkiness of the wool made me question this one.

I prefer the fit of the smaller size, the buttoned picture does not look snug. Where does it feel snug when buttoned? Shoulders, armholes, bust? Etc.

This is the J Crew Rhodes elbow patch sleeve blazer in wool houndstooth. I would probably not wear it closed, but I took pics of it open and closed anyway. If I look uncomfortable I'm not, I stood with my arms straight down so you could see the length of the sleeves. I also have two shirts on underneath it, a thin striped long sleeved tee and a chambray shirt - I tried it on that way because this is how I would wear it sometimes.

Pics 1 and 2 (with my glasses on) - Size 4. It's a tad snug when closed but I wouldn't wear it that way.

Pics 3 and 4 (without my glasses on) - Size 6. The side opposite the buttons hangs in a sticking out way, I'm not sure if it's because it's big or there's something wrong with it. If this size looks better on me I will exchange it for another one.
