My favorite shape for you is definitely #1, those would be perfect, if the frames were a tad bigger.
#2 and #4 are nice.
These are much, much better overall.
I still think that color wise, you should go for a lighter shade of brown. With the darker frame there is no contrast between the frames, your hair and your eyebrows.

Oh Alaska Girl - I'm glad that you kept nagging her I like 2,3, and 5 the best. Very fun - any of these I like better than the ones that you posted earlier!

See, I LIKE these! Thanks for posting the pictures (and sorry if I was nagging!). I like 1, 2, and 5 a lot. Can't wait to see what others think. 2 in a different color would be great, maybe a red or a deep green?

Yeeeah, 6 is a little too out there, but it is fun to try that kind of frame anyway!

I am going to go back and try some more, but for those who wanted to see me in some chunkier frames, here's some pics (pics 2 and 3 are the same frame, all others are different). I tried on so many pairs on Saturday, I can probably show you some of almost any style! I just feel that they overwhelm my face...

Last pair was the craziest I've ever seen -- I'm just hoping it won't be the crowd favorite!

I hate to be the party pooper here but are you open to continue to shop around? Honestly, im not loving any of these choices on you. You can do much, much better. I'd say keep looking. I suggest a more substantial frame. Take a look at plastic frames too. I think a plastic, rectangular frame in a caramel color would bring some warmth to your face. You have such a beautiful smile!

Alaskagirl, we can't *really* see the way your specs fit from the photo. They make a great first impression though :)

Goldie, in #2, the outside bottom corners of the specs droop south. Not a good look. Your face wants to look LIFTED in specs.

#4 fights with your brow line. The upper line of the frame of your specs looks like another eyebrow. Does that make sense?

#6 - my favourite, is rectangular and complements the sharp curve of your brow. The frame is also a lot more refined which strikes a balance with your features.

Maybe she means your eyes are not centered in the glasses but more in the upper half. Are there any other stores around you that you can check out? I would definitely go back to the first place too. A good sales person is important. How did you take the photos. Was someone with you?

Darn it, everyone -- you were all supposed to be in agreement and make this decision easy! Now I'm going to have to decide for myself!

I was leaning towards pair 3 (the one in pics 4+5), but now I don't know. Angie, what do you mean by eye droop? I read about that in your blog post, but I wasn't quite sure what it meant, or what I was supposed to look for to combat it. Is it that the corners of the frames are sort of pointing down, rather than up?

And #2 seems to be the crowd favorite! Wow. So confusing. #1 and #2 are about $100 more than #3 and #4 (though I might be mistaken). If it's really the one I want, though, I'm trying not to be too price-sensitive, since it's such an important decision and it will get amortized over so much use.

As for number 4, I do think the shape is pretty cool. It comes in several colors. I have the red on, but it also comes in some VERY brights (purple and turquoise I think!), and some neutrals. Is the red good for me? It's kind of a shimmery (almost glittery) up close. Would a neutral be better?

The first store I went to (pairs 1, 2), the guy helping me told me to come back during the week, when their magic glasses specialist with 25 years of experience picking glasses for people will be there. Maybe I'll go back and try them on again.

Thanks so much everyone! You haven't heard the last of this!

Goldie - I totally sympathize. I have a very heavy prescription, plus I need reflective coating (a must when you work on computers all day), and I've also become reliant on Transitions coating (I have very sensitive eyes and Transitions lets the lens darken automatically in sunlight) - a single pair of glasses can easily cost me around $1,000!

Not only that, but my eyes get worse and worse every year, so I need a new prescription every year. Needless to say I have to pick my frames very carefully. Still, since they're on your face ALL THE TIME, I think it's super important to get it right.

I'd trust Angie's opinion. Personally, I liked #1, but I do think they're a strong statement.

Wow! These favourites really surprise me. #2 has eye droop and #3's frames are too big. It's fighting with your brow line.

#1 is not bad, but still too heavy and dark for your features.

I hands down like the last pair of frames best - #6. They are refined and work with your heavy brow line. Very flattering. They are soft yet deliberate. The colour works really well! Hah! I am totally the odd duck out.

I think #2 is the best, but I'd like to see you in some of the stronger frames, just for comparison. They may look better than you think at first... I wear glasses too and found it took a little while for me to get used to my VERY funky purple and citron tie-dye frames. They are similar to Angies in the "Press" link below. Now they are my signature, and people compliment them all the time.

#2 - hands down for me! I'm trying to think what the reasons are - I think its because slimmer frames are a good compliment to your strong features - they aren't competing with your beautiful eyes and eyebrows. Also, the shape - it seems to balance out the roundness of your eyes. #4 is my 2nd favorite - but I don't think the color is as neutral as #2's - also I don't think the shape is a nice for you as #2. My least favorite is a toss-up between #s1 and #3! Too much frame for me - competes with your features!

I like 2&3 the best, hands down! I like the rectangular shape on your face and I like the pewter color. Very sleek. You have a great smile!
