Looking up Angie's past suggestions, I think you should stay focussed on boot cut or flared black trousers that hang to the floor. These will work for the wedding and other occasions. You can have fun with the top. That's just my opinion of course!

Oh... And make sure you bring your footwear with you when you shop!

Nothing more to add, but I'm cheering at you! If you know when you are going to Dallas, you could prepare us so that you can get quick feetback in the dressing room. Fingers crossed for you! You can do it!

Thank you, Angie. You are so kind to hold my hand through this nerve wracking process. ALL of you Fabbers are being so supportive, and I'm very grateful!

I knew the length bothered me, I just didn't know if it could be fixed. I've still got the black pants that don't have a length issue but need major alteration to the waist that we can try to work with, and all of Dallas as my playground to go shopping for other options. Dallas should have plenty of options. Many of the major players in the department store arena; several of the "high-street"/fast fashion type players are represented; TJMaxx stores with "The Runway" section; Allen premium outlets; Park Lane; and consignment shops galore. I'll get down there in a couple of weeks to pick up some tops and pants options to get some feedback from y'all

Well, Angie, so they're not working for the wedding, most likely. Would they work at all for regular life or should I just send them back to yoox?

Sorry I missed this, Cindy.

I am not fond of the lengths at all, I'm afraid. The ONLY way this is going to work is if you wear a strappy BLACK heeled sandal with the longer length (just like what you have on here - but black). That way the trousers will melt into the footwear and look longer.

Thanks for additional pics! I think that at the current length, it's a conservative, dressy, safe look (but not dowdy). I guess you could crop a couple of inches to look more modern - I'll defer to others here who have more experience with, and a better eye for heels with crops.

But based on what I kinda read between the lines of your original post, you'd look very appropriate and respectful of the location and occasion, if that is your goal for the event.

Could you try them with the heels, or heels of the height you plan to wear, and take another pic? They may be just right once your posture adjusts for heels.
And just my personal eye, but I'm not usually a fan of cropping for cropping's sake.

Joy, I'm ok with cropped length for this pair of pants. I'm even ok with cropping them shorter so that some of the tattoo shows, but only if we decide they're a no go for the wedding.

Elizabeth, I can do that in the morning. I'd do it now but I'm exhausted--I've been slicing and dehydrating fruit all day. I didn't even think about it when I took the pics earlier, but full view does make sense because proportion matters

Can you pin them to cropped length and post a photo? Preferably with more of your body in it, to get a sense of proportions. I find the best crop length depends on the pant width as well, so a number like 3" may not actually be the perfect length.

I'm not a good person to advise on pant lengths, but I feel that you should have these shortened to the 3" above ankle length or whatever covers the big tattoo. Will it still cover when you are seated? The cropped length will look on trend yet be long enough to be elegant. If the cropped length is not as desirable for you as full length, have them let out the 1.75 inches. It will look more deliberate as a length.

These are the blue pants I ordered for my sister's wedding. They fit perfectly, except for one thing.

The length. Now, there's 1.75" of extra fabric in the hem. I know that means they could be let out a wee bit, but it probably isn't enough for heels.

Could they be cropped a bit? I could go 3" above my ankle bone without revealing the big tattoo I'm determined to cover for the wedding (which has gone from semi-formal to I don't know what since my sister has said her husband-to-be is not wearing a suit, he is wearing jeans and cowboy boots but she is still wearing a bridal gown)

Or do I scrap these for the wedding? I don't really want to hassle with returning them (I hate hate hate returning if I can't return in store and yoox doesn't have in store). Could I just crop them to a nice cropped length regardless of the tattoo? Because I like the pants, the fabric is pretty, they're a great fit everywhere else, and they'd work for some aspects of my uber-casual lifestyle if I dress them down.

Or should I just return the pants to yoox?
