Seconding Dianthus and Angie... Back when I used to wear suits in the tropics I wore JCrew - the super 120s wool and they also had cotton and linen options.

Do you want wool only or are synthetic blends an option? If you have a Banana Republic Factory Store in your area, I was just in our local one, and a lot of the suiting in lighter colors/weights was on end of season clearance. Same at Ann Taylor Factory Store.

I love seeing summer suits in lighter colors, but sometimes it's hard to line up the quality, fit, and fabric in less common colors. Can you wear light grays?
Otherwise, another option is to work on summerizing darker neutrals--navy, for example, or even black, with nude shoes, specatator shoes, and ligher tops and accessories.
Not sure if your main goal is just expanding your suit options or specifically getting a more "summery" look. And, do you consider tropical weight wool as summer-okay, or are you looking for super tropical items such as seersucker or cotton or linen blends?

Again, in the spring, Elie Tahari had some gorgeous ones -- Janet bought one in Boston that was really lovely. She's not wearing it under a suit, mind you. But it could be worn that way.

Tops are easier, I think. Once you find the right jackets.

Club Monaco has less classic styles than the one I showed -- I just posted it as a kind of placeholder. You can find other stuff. Tops are usually interesting, too.

Thanks, Suz and Dianthus.

Theory looks a bit boring except for the lanai. I think i just have to get out there and try stuff on.

I also need tops to go under. Any suggestions?

The super 120s wool line from J Crew would probably work.
https://www.jcrew.com/ca/women.....er120s.jsp

I have a skirt in this fabric and it is very nice and not heavy at all. My son also has a few suits in super 120 or 130 and the feel of the wool is very nice.

Ah, so Theory is a no go because you already have?

I would stlll check those sales because I know they did the Gabe in lighter colours this year. And if you can wear the Lanai, that one, also.

My new suit is probably not technically summer weight but it is definitely lighter weight and cross seasonal -- that is Elie Tahari and is a lovely, lovely quality .

How about Reiss for another option? Love my blazer from them. Again, not summer weight, but they did have a summer collection.

I would also take a look at Club Monaco.

I normally do not travel in the summer and have made do. This year and probably for the next few, I will need summer weight suiting. A jacket or two, pants with some tops that are lighter color or fabrication that is season appropriate.

Any tips on stores etc? Hoping this coincides with any end of season sales that I can wear this f/w for winter mtgs at warm locations.

Thanks! And my work mates (who are tired of the same theory jacket and blouse) thank you.
