Angie, thanks for comments! I do also have trousers that I think will work well with these, if I don't run amuck of PPL's, and that is part of the appeal--I really would like dual-purpose-fitting booties.

Ahoy, Firecracker!

I like these a lot. I am similarly timid about wearing booties with skirts and bare legs, but these look great (good colour, good fit around the ankles, nice texture). I vote keep.

I like the booties on you, unfrumped. They look equally good with bare legs and tights. I think you've found a pair that will work for you! Welcome aboard.

I like the booties - especially in #1 and #2. Nice fit and colour. No need to bookend. Great with trousers too.

Dear Angie and all:

I would appreciate input on whether these tan/gold booties would be "modern" or whether I've missed the boat on this look and should move on. Or should find other booties.

I wasn't looking for these, but when shopping for wedding shoes in June, saw these Crown booties and thought the bootie shaft looked less flower-potty, which is something that has kept me from more bootie-skirt looks, so tried them. Also, I am not a pointy-toe person due to fussy feet issues, but these were comfortable- wide enough through toe, and maybe the suede helps. The heel height is at the upper limit for me, but chunky rubberized, and okay for some days.
Next, the color doesn't bookend, but because it's lighter, it's what allowed my timid self to consider nude leg + bootie look. Plus the color works well with summer-autumn palette. This brand had an updated style in a cool taupey brown, but the style change was more flowerpot and had an extra zipper, so they didn't do what these do, for me.
Next, when I did the Find I saw the name, Western boot, I wasn't sure--not a goal to be Western, really, but hey.

So, I've held onto them so far and finally did some pics, though some of my cooler garb is still packed away. just to see if they have potential.
1. Nude leg look with YB animal print skirt. Pushing my envelope--not many examples on the homefront here; I might stand out too much! Can try more styling when have more time with more tonal looks.
Next up:
2-3 Tights looks are more in my comfort zone. I love the look of gray ribbed tights with light brown boots in mag photos, and so have tried that here. Something about the ribbing, gives a 2-tone effect, lower contrast with boots . But, ribbing makes it tougher as have to watch too much texture-mixing (the gray skirt is lace). Can try flat gray tights, or heather.

What do you think? Any comments and suggestions appreciated.
