The side entry pockets are key to really fab peacoat design and <u>function.&nbsp;&nbsp;</u> And most coats in general. Stuffing hands under flappy topped pockets is not friendly or fab. Hard to do and poof goes that fab nonchalant look. I would go even further and say I would not get this coat. Look at other makers or wait until JC comes to their senses.</p> <p>This was one of several issues for me with the JC field coat. Since it would be more of an outdoor coat, I knew I'd want to stuff hands in pockets. The big flap outside pockets on the front are a complete addition to the design and make it less sleek, and I am not sure anyone needs the bulk added right there in the stomach/hip area! I think this in particular is what commenters are responding to -- that, and the loss of the traditional gold buttons on the belt at the back. But the big front pockets are what is likely to be a serious problem for many female figures.</p> <p>If the ebay version is in your size and is a color you like and does not have these pockets, I would encourage you to try it. Mine is actually a bright pink and I wear it a lot. I love this coat. It's well made, warm, and stylish. Especially since you can return it (I'm assuming the restocking fee is small) it is probably worth it. Is it a safe bet sight unseen for an apple shape? (I know you haven't seen pics of me in a while).
