You know, Amy, I had this strong feeling that it wasn't just this blouse. I have other silk shirts that fit nicely and don't gap, so I know it's possible! Thanks!

I'm afraid I have this same problem with Ann Taylor blouses. You'll find something better elsewhere.

I agree with the ladies. You are inbetween sizes. Onto a better blouse with white cuffs, Adelfa.

So grateful for the honest feedback! Thank you, Joy, shevia, Suz, and K (I think I know your name but am scared to get it wrong)! It's sort of a newish feeling for me not to settle for a bad fit. Not to have to.

Agreeing with the others that neither of the blouses you tried fit very well. The petite is worth a try. It's a great piece.

Agree that it is too big and then too small here. Hope a petite size works out.

Jody, it's worth a try, because you just never know. I am often between petites and regular and in those situations I have to try on a case by case basis, even when we are talking about items made by the same manufacturer. It truly varies by cut. So it's worth checking out if the shirt is available. In petites you might need to size up from your regulars...or then again, you might not.

K, several have suggested a petite especially since the sleeves are way too long, but this has never worked for me, I think because I am long waisted. I could try again.

I hate to say it, but I think the size up is a bit too big and the size down is a bit too small. I hate it when that happens!

This may not work, be could you try on the size up (the size in pics 1 and 2) in a petite?

This is the Ann Taylor Lane Striped Shirt. I ordered up a size (pics 1, 2) to address gapping in the smaller size (3, 4--gapping visible in 4). My concerns are that altering won't help the slightly wide shoulders, or reduce the distance between the top of the side seams (because of the sleeves).

What do you think? I really like the shirt and think it would be a useful addition to my work shirt wardrobe, but I don't love it beyond all reason, and am willing to return both sizes if necessary.

Thanks for your thoughts!
