That alteration could effect the overall length.&nbsp; The loose fit in the hip area is only emphasized by the sweater laying over the trousers in #2. These pants definitely need to be altered in the back - they do that "smile" thing in the butt - I will be removing the waistband, taking in the back butt seam, and altering the waistband. It also has back pockets which I will be removing (making them faux). This is a pair of dress pants&nbsp;I purchased last fall (I was lured in by the fact that they are long enough at regular length). Should I alter the thighs or does this quality as a fluid fit?&nbsp;</p> <p>They are a navy/wine/brown houndstooth print. I have my sweater folded up in the first photo so you can see them better. The second photo is with the sweater at regular length. </p>
