You've received excellent suggestions from Louise and Frannie. You might have square shoulders as opposed to broad shoulders.

I look forward to seeing a photo, and helping you further with your style.

I agree with louise - I am an extreme pair - plus size on bottom and straight size on top. The key is learning the silhouette that works for you and for me being okay with having to tailor every single pair of pants I buy. I have had my pants tailored for so long it is just part of the process and I know when a pant is work tailoring and one when is not.
Remember it is not you it is just the clothes

Welcome on board
Your body shape sounds very similar to mine and I'm a pear. To get a definite answer though you'll need to post a photo of you in form fitting clothes. I was also once where you are now but once you learn how to dress your body shape you'll be a born again shopaholic!! X

Hello Angie,

I've just come across your blog while trying to find advice on dressing for my shape. I have very wide hips, small waist and carry my weight on my thighs and bum. I have a small bust and flat tummy. This leads me to think I am a pear, however I have read a lot that this should also mean I have very narrow shoulders and I think mine are maybe broader than normal. Does this still sound like a pear please?

I find shopping very difficult, often get emotional and return home with nothing. I am not a large person(5'5") and a UK size 10 (top)/ 12 (bottom) but when I try on a lot of things in shops they just don't suit my odd shape.

Any advice would be welcomed

Many thanks

Anna
