-Shevia and Style Fan, thank you!

-Kellygirl, I think you wear OTKs very well, actually your WIWs motivated me to try them myself. Maybe for me the otks are moving away from my comfort zone which can be a good thing sometimes.

-Greyscale, thank you! I will try it with flares to see. I am trying to keep the jacket in a fairly monochromatic outfit, that may work best.

-LisaP, that's a good idea. The next time I will try it with a dress and the top folded.

-Suz, thank you, it is reassuring that you all like the jacket.

-Joy, you said it right about the courage to wear OTK. I feel a little bit like maybe they are for people younger than me but when I try them they feel so warm and cozy that I want to wear them regardless... Thank you for sharing the pictures, you look fab in your OTKs! I love the low contrast look and the fun vest. Maybe suede OTKs are easier to wear in the sense that the top does not stick out like in the leather ones? I hope you will not remove the knee part of your boots, they are great the way you have them. I think monochromatic outfits will make my OTKs easier to wear.

-Diana, good idea, I will try the velvet jacket with a skirt. When I bought it I wore it with a sheath dress and that worked so you are right that skirts should be fine, too. Thank you for sharing the pictures of your fabulous outfits! I love all of them and my favorite are number 1 and the miniskirt, that looks super on you. I see what you say about the fuller skirts. I will try something similar to pict 4 minus your fab handknit sweater which is one of a kind.

-Cynthia, thank you so much and I think you have a good eye for outfits that are not boring so I am glad you like the jacket and otks.

-Brooklyn, thank you! I have to try them with my longer skirts to see. I also want them to work with more than just tights.

-Harmonica, glad you like the jacket, too. I have tried many otks and these are the only ones that I found with a good enough heel height and a comfortable shoe for me. I think suede otks may be easier to style.

- Angie, thank you very much for your input. I am glad the jacket does not look outdated and I also like it better open.
Now that I hear that you like the otks I have to find a few fuller skirts to see how they work for me.

-Isabel, thank you! I suppose the jacket can work as a classic? I agree that Joy and Diana were too kind to share the photographs.

I will try on the boots with different skirts to see how they look. I think the tops will still stick up under the skirts when I sit and I may have to live with that if I want to keep them, or I may just see if I can fold them like Lisap said.

Agree that the jacket is fine, as an other era piece it's in a special category and a fuller skirt might work perfectly.
Special thanks to Joy, I love how you've styled your boots and the accompanying description with your thought process included is super helpful too.

Your OTK boots are Killer and I love them like this, Joyce. With skirts and dresses, you need to wear a fuller silhouette as Diana and Brooklyn describe.

The jacket is a romantic and dandy delight. I like it best worn open. Keep.

I say wear the jacket, also like greyscale suggested. I think the OTK boots look great, but I have no advise. Lisa's suggestion sounds like it could work. I understand your frustration (one of my reasons to not try OTK for myself). The heel height looks perfect, though.

I really, really love how your outfit plays with different textures!!

I love the jacket. Wear it! The OTKs look good but, for me, I would want them to work with skirts (the way Diana is wearing them). Like Diana, I tend to wear them with looser skirts.
And your balcony is fabulous!

I like the jacket and I think it actually is quite in line with the gothic romance trend at the moment. I like greyscale's idea to try it with wide leg pants. I think it would also work with skirts because of its fitted, shorter shape.

I have OTK boots like that and they work for me with knee length or midi full skirts. Narrower knee length skirts do tend to get stuck!

Here are mine with some different lengths of skirts. I think the trick with the longer ones is that they have to be full enough at the bottom not to want to cling to your leg.

ETA: I wear the OTKs with jeans too of course. Mine actually cannot be folded down, the top part is too stiff.

Joyce, I like the jacket with your jeans and boots. I have a similar pair of OTK boots and it has taken me years to get the courage to wear them OTK. Mine are a soft suede. I have mostly worn them with the top folded down so that they are a knee length boot. I can also fold the top part back into the boot for a sleeker knee length look. I was going to have that top part that comes over the knee removed but have not done it. I have been wesring them OTK this year with low contrast tights and sweater dress. I'll try to add a photo. You might consider having the top part removed if it really bothers you.

Can you not fold down the top of the boot to make a cuff? It looks like it is designed to be work that way too. That would let you wear them with a dress or a skirt and not have the flap getting in the way. I can't comment on the jacket - hard to tell the fit on my monitor.

I love the jacket! And it fits you beautifully. I would definitely still wear it. I think to keep it current, I'd wear it with jeans (as you did) rather than in dressier outfits. Because of the fitted cut, it might look great with wide-leg or boyfriend jeans?

Angie's blog on velvet reminded me of this jacket; she asked me to show a picture so here it goes. It is fitted and has a cascade type of lapel. Does it look outdated or can it still be worn? I am showing pictures of it closed and also open.
Also, I am working on these Ted Baker OTKs, not sure if to keep or return. I like the shoe part, the heels and soles, and also that because they are leather they are not too delicate. On the other hand, when I sit down the top pops up and it also "eats up" any skirts or dresses that it can reach. The wear would be limited to leggings, skinny pants and tunics with leggings. They would be nice with mini skirts for younger ladies. It seems that the top feature of the boots is something that you need to be OK with if you keep them. Do any of you have similar boots? How do you feel about them and how do you wear them?
