How funny that nemosmom just mentioned Aerie because I was just going to recommend them too. I have a small cup size but they seem to have many options and the Real Happy wireless bra is my current favorite bra (medium padding though). It's a firm bra with solid shaping and stitching replacing the underwire. I will report back. Although my cup size is quite small so my needs might be different than yours. My problem is that a lot of bralettes seem to have quite wide bands. Because of my extremely short torso, I need a narrow band (I mean narrow top to bottom -- not in terms of ribcage circumference). The wider bands roll and bunch up on me and are super uncomfortable (I have this problem with waistbands too). It’s hard for me to find a good one with a small band size and large cup size (typically wearing a 30 or 32G). I’ve also bought a second one of these True Body bralettes from Nordstrom because I’ve been wearing that style a lot too. It’s not a ton of support but I do wear them out in public and I don’t think anyone is the wiser (I wear more structured wired bras under snugger tops, not that I’m wearing many of those close-fitting tops these days anyway). Already bought a back up and am considering one more. The "wire" substitute is soft, but structured (if that makes sense) and I've even slept in it comfortably. I like the level of padding for modesty purposes - just enough to smooth out the front view, but not a push up AT ALL. It is seamless under a tee, but leaves enough 'shape' under a chunky sweater (doesn't flatten me down). This is not the first time it's happened to me, and I'm over it. I want wire free bras, but not sports bras because monoboob is not my thing. I don't want a lot of padding, I certainly don't NEED padding, but I'm ok with very light/thin padding if need be. I actually wash all my bras by hand, so I'm not concerned about care instructions. I don't even know what kind of budget I have, but I'm willing to spend if I find something that works for me. Another couple of weeks and I'll be financially stable again after moving and then missing a whole week of work pretty much wiped out my reserves. I can buy one at a time until I have a collection of nice wire free bras; I have a few target ones that will suffice in the meantime. So, hit me with your recommendations. Good brands, good websites, good ideas, suggestions, tips and tricks. I'll go to the "a bra that fits" subreddit and measure myself because that's how I FINALLY got myself into the right size bra after I gained all that weight and I've now lost 20 pounds of it. Id rather not go to a store for a bra fitting right now, because I'm very afraid of close contact with other people. My job is risky enough, selling produce to countless strangers, half of whom won't wear a dang mask. Any and all help, thoughts, commiseration, ideas, brand/site recommendations, advice are all appreciated.
