Thanks Angie, I'll give them a miss. I could not find the Macadamias in my size but will keep an eye out to see if they go on sale. I did write a review. Your description was spot on

Elpgal, the Macadamias are definitely wider.

Hm, inconsistent sizing! Again, why I order sometimes in three different sizes--10, 10.5 (if it's even available), and 11! Good luck--I hope that you end up with the perfect pair of sandals!

Starrgrrl, I tried these in the store and these definitely ran large. It is surprising because my previous experience with Born sandals, like yours, is that they run small and are a bit stiff. This particular sandal is a whole another beast - soft straps and runs large.

Maya, bummer! The pointy toes are a deal breaker. My feet are simply not shaped like that.

elpgal, I haven't tried either of these shoes, but I was trying on several pair of Born sandals last weekend, and I must say, they seemed to run a tad on the small side. I'm normally a size 10, but there was no way I would have been comfortable in their size 10. They also seemed rather narrow, my own narrow feet were hanging off the side of the sandals. I would need a full size up in the Borns.

If you are ordering online, you might want to get a couple of sizes in each pair so you're sure to assess all for the most comfortable fit.

I haven't tried the Macadamias so I can't really compare, but I can comment on the Smooch sandals.

I don't want to put them down because they ARE comfortable and I do wear them regularly. But, I have not found them as comfortable as my Brulees, so if I know I will be doing a lot of walking, the Brulees are my preference. Something about them is different. The toe area is pointier and doesn't quite work with the shape of my foot. I find that as I walk, my feet tend to slide off on the outside sole, and I have to push them back into place. That probably makes no sense and I am not sure how to describe it in a better way, but it can be annoying. My foot just seems to point in a different direction than the shoe. This also causes it to be a bit unstable--I have turned my heel a few times in them.

Since the Macadamias appear to have a much wider sole, my hunch is that they would be better. But as I said, I haven't tried them to know personally.

Angie, I am late to the summer sandal game but want to snatch up something before the low heels disappear. Do the Clark Smooch sandals run as wide enough as the Born Macademias ?
