(I'd probably wear them turned down, too, because I like that kind of cuff detail, and I like options!) I'm not sure about how on-trend they look--they have a granny-boot vibe that may or may not be "in" this year, but seems to remain popular. I wouldn't define them as edgy. I don't know where you would find comfortable alternatives, unfortunately. I haven't seen a lot of this style out. I made this mistake with a pair of Born oxfords last year--wanted to fill a wardrobe hole and liked the comfort, but passed on them each time I went to wear them because they skewed too stodgy. These are made of shiny and so, so soft leather -- check. They fit perfectly comfortably right out of the box, and they look good on my feet and legs -- check. They aren't crazy-expensive -- check.&nbsp; I'd wear them straight up (rather than folded down), which I think matches the "higher booties" style of this coming autumn. But they are a comfort brand, and I almost always choose edgy over comfortable. Do these lack the fashion-forward vibe that I need for New York and stylish European cities? If so, have you seen any comparable alternatives? </p>
