Maybe your bras are actually made with plastic underwires?

I had this happen - at Heathrow! The woman frisked my boobs. :-p I cannot imagine wearing a non-underwire bra for an entire international flight, though. That would be much too uncomfortable for me. If I were you, I wouldn't worry about hold up the line just because the airports equipment is set to pick up a woman's undergarmets as a security threat! Ridiculous.

Interesting. I've never had this happen. If the bra is causing any kind of noise the person usually just dismisses it.

Take a look at the bravissimo.com site.

This happens all the time at some airports (like Kansas City). My sister says it has the most sensitive equipment anywhere. I have a Calvin Klein bra that is somewhat molded but without an underwire that is always my go-to undergarment for airtravel. I bought it a couple of years ago at Nordstroms at my first bra fitting there. It's called Calvin Klein Perfectly Fit Naked. I can't read the model number clearly but it looks like 49852 or 45852. If you find it on-line, size up a cup size.
This bra comes the closest and isn't in your size but maybe this will help someone. Mine is not contoured or padded.

I have also had this problem. I have no solution for you. It's only happened once out of many flight so I just consider it to be a risk I take.

This has happened to me too. You should ask a specialist bra saleswoman for more recommendations, but I know that Aubade does not use metal underwires.

Wow. Really? That's frustrating.

I travel very frequnetly, always wear an under-wire bra and have never had a problem. Nor have I ever heard of this being a problem with anyone else. Perhaps it's that particular bra?

Having recently travelled from London, Heathrow I have once again been subjected to extensive secondary screening due to an underwire bra! This never happened at other airports in Europe or Canada. I held up the fast track line while the female agent repeatedly scanned and patted my chest! I was wearing a simple cotton button down shirt so it was clear that underwire was the problem. I have scanned various websites for a supportive bra in the DD size range with plastic support with few options. Any suggestions?
Many thanks!!!
