Yeah, I've had to break them in before but I've only dealt with boots, never shoes. I gave Jean the same advice! So the sides will also soften? Because even my husband loves these shoes, and normally he's all "ANOTHER pair of shoes?!?"...

Will keep wearing them around the house!

Docs always need breaking in. They will soften - I promise. I wore mine again today.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, so I'm not sure, Una. It sounds like the same "issue" I'm having with a pair of Miz Mooz booties. They were rubbing against that spot of my ankle too when I first got them, the left one was more painful. After wearing them a few times, the leather is starting to soften up very nicely, so I think the problem will solve itself after a while. My tall Dr. Martens needed some breaking in too, so maybe give it a bit of time?

I just got them and I ADORE them. But they are a little painful on the sides of my ankles. I'm not used to breaking in that part of a shoe. They don't feel narrow otherwise, and I don't have thick ankles. Is it just a matter of time and patience.

I'm now officially SYC except for the basic tops if I can't find those through SYC. I need to take a break and get some outfits together from what I have right here in my hands!
