I understand that Arche can veer toward a comfort shoe look with some styles, but in my experience they look exceptionally elegant on your foot and not your Grandma's comfort shoe (unless you're French I guess). On the other hand, Trippen shoes are pretty fantastic and approprio and I were Trippen buddies at the London meet up. The styles are definitely what I'd call Euro-cool which might not appeal to everyone, but the comfort is out of the world. I bought my first part of Arches when I was standing in front of classes from 8am until 10pm. I have looked everywhere I can think of and have yet to come up with anything remotely like them. So, now I am trying a different tack, searching for a lace-up shootie that will be good in bad weather, but go well with jeans, crop pants and dresses/skirts (with tights). The nicest looking ones I've found are these Arche Musiqs. They are not anything near as trendy, but they do have an interesting heel and look both comfortable and elegant. They claim to be weather-resistant, too, and have a treaded sole. I would wear these mostly in NYC. Have never worn Arche shoes. In fact, I kinda dislike almost all the styles. I am 66, but I do love to have "different" shoes. And these are fairly pricey for a doesn't-knock-your-socks-off style. What do you fab ladies think? </p>
