This is great Angie, thanks. It also confirms that I do know what I'm doing. I have been following these rules based on Tim Gunn's advice to always look for fit, proportion, and sillouette. The hard part is sometimes finding the right shape in the right colour and fit, but I guess that is everyone's challenge no matter what their body type.

The skirt is very cute, but shorter than I'm comfortable with as my knees are not attractive. Thanks for the advice though.

I am not Angie but I have similar problems. If you are slim from the waist up, then the flop proof formula is fitted on top and flared at the bottom. I generally wear A line skirts and balance it out with a fitted top. If you have toned arm then you have the whole gamut of sleeveless, halter necks and tanks to choose from.
I recently bought this skirt from Macys and I think it did a great job of camouflaging my lower half and yet gave me a great shape.

http://www.macys.com/catalog/p.....VdLirZJBgQ

Hope this helps

xx

I have thick ankles and calves. I tend to carry the bulk of my weight from the hips down, which is easy to hide in winter, but don't feel comfortable wearing shorts or skirts above the knee. I also have to be very careful with heal heights and thicknesses. Any pointers to keep in mind for skirt lengths, shoes etc. From the waist up I am quite slim so look very bottom heavy.
