I'd love to help, but I can't see the pattern you've linked to

Hi Adrienne-I'm sure Angie will reply, but in the meantime I'll comment and hope it will help you.

I'm also an inverted triangle (only 5'2") and would not choose that pattern. I find that having a shoulder seam just at the edge of my shoulder is more flattering. This top looks like it has a dropped shoulder seam and I think that makes my shoulders look much broader (not what I want!). The bottom part of the top does look flattering though. For me, I would like the bit of fullness below the waist created by the ties and the pleating, this would balance my narrow hips in contrast to my broad shoulders. So if you are shaped similarly, you might want to find a pattern with a set-in-sleeve instead and make sure the fit is good in the shoulder area. Being an inverted triangle can be difficult because you also have to take the rest of your shape into consideration when choosing styles. I also sew a lot and I try on different styles at stores before choosing patterns to determine whether a certain cut will flatter my body type. Try to pay attention to the details of the garment so when you pattern shop you can find something similar.
