Hmmnnn, I guess now I have to decide whether they suit me or not. After getting them home and playing started thinking about denim instead and perhaps a different rise. Thanks so much ladies, I appreciate the helpful advice.

The inseam alone doesn't tell the story. It also depends on how high up they ride in the crotch.

I think the length of these is just fine, myself. I would only want them longer if they were to be worn with high heels. And even then, these would probably be okay. Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not seeing a dismal failure.

All these lengths look good to me too. I think it's hard to tell when you're looking in the mirror and there probably is some sliding up or down. You can't just look at the inseam because I think it depends on the rise and where they sit on your waist.

Pants are so difficult to get right! I struggle with it too. It doesn't help that the leg (straight, skinny, boot) also plays a role along with the actual shoes you will be wearing them with in determining how long or short the pants appear.

QP yes I'm a bit worried about shrinkage when I feel they're too short right now. I've been told on the forum before that my pants are too short and these ended up being the same inseam.

CF yes these will be one of my pair summer pants and these shoes are the go to shoes.

Rachylou I don't think I adjust them but they crease and get softer, actually no idea what they do... They all look fine in the store and the SA's say I wouldn't want them any longer as they are touching the floor. Once I get home something happens though, maybe I stand differently.

Those aren't floods. They seem fairly the right length to me. Do you adjust your pants much while wearing them? It may be you're pulling them up and they're sliding down.

The length seems OK to me too, if you're planning on wearing them with those shoes.

Another foray into the stores, home with another dismal failure I do believe.

I got these pants, which I believe I am returning as they are not quite right. The length was touching the floor on the store and the SA told me...oh too long. When I got home to take pics of self they are too short. Measured them and they are the same length as all my other pants which are floods.

Any advice on how to get it right?

Edit: I like almost to belly button rise and find a lot of the straight legs too low. They sort of roll down my body. I really like crepe but think perhaps denim is the way to go. I want a tighter thigh than my old mom pants... Pic six is my black jeans with the same inseam length.

All comments welcome.
