Hi Beth Ann --- I think your hair is lovely in both pics but I prefer #3 also. I think it's more youthful looking and very flattering.
If you have any natural curl/wave in your hair then keep in mind that cutting the length frees up the curl. If you want bangs and do have some natural curl you might be "fighting" with it to make it behave the way you want. Best wishes!

Beth Ann, I really like #5 best I think; but if you were to go with getting bangs rather than the S-wave, #1 is a very good idea for your lovely thick hair (much envy!).

BTW -- Didn't realize that, when I posted the picture of my backside in photo ! that this would be the photo in the YLF feed. Bwahahaha! Can't decide if I look like I"m shaking my booty or turning my back on the world!

Thanks, Angie and YLFers for your feedback! So far, it's unanimous for #3.. Jem, I have started pinning on Pinterest and may have to cart my laptop to the hair salon! Below are a few I've pinned so far. My hair is quite thick and heavy, probably most like photos 1 & 4. I'm not sure about "real bangs" for my face shape. Here's hoping for a little "hair magic!"

I too like the length you have in #3. If you're hesitant to go that short straightaway and want to keep some length, how about layering so that the front is shoulder long and the back deeper? The S-curl sounds like a good idea too, since your hair will work with that naturally. And you can also add the fringe later if you feel like, just as you could try the angled bob later too, as it warms up and you (maybe?) want your hair off your shoulders...

Definitely #3! I think an s-wave would be lovely - kind of a hollywood glamour look

Another vote for the length in #3. You can always go shorter later (angled bob), but shoulder length is great on you!

I like #3 the best. What I just did was start pinning hair pictures on pinterest, that I liked. After a while I noticed that they all looked similar, just different lengths. I was a bit nervous about going shorter, but see it looks much better now. Although your results may vary... lol

I like the length in picture #3. As for going with a bob or just some layers, you should consider how you were it and how hard it is to style. If you were ponytails a lot, layers can get loose so easily, for example depending how short they are.

I do like the length in #3, I am not exactly sure what an s wave by the face is but as I imagine it from how it is named I think it would work well with you natural curl there.

Greetings, All!

It's my teaching Spring Break this week, and I've not had a haircut in over 4 months. I'm quite indecisive. My stylist suggests a long, angled bob, and a few friends agree. Some others are in favor of my keeping my locks fairly long. As for me? I'm only sure that I need more shaping and softness around the face and that I'm not interested in going short. In the photos you'll notice that my hair wants to roll back from my face. More modern cuts often have hair down and forward over the brow. I sometimes wonder about a classic cut with kind of an "s" wave by the face. Point cutting the front would allow to straighten and get a "fringey" effect for a more modern look.

I attached some recent WIW photos showing my hair in it's most natural state -- not much styling. The last is my hair this past summer, when it was shorter.
Suggestions welcome!
