I wear olive or army green a lot and always have. It is one of my favourite colours. My puffer is olive green and I think I have seen a lot of other people in that colour in the frozen north. Not sure because I am in Florida so I am going by memory.

Hello. I am in Australia and I am seeing a lot of it in stores. Just bought a khaki sleeveless dress! Of course we are coming into autumn and it is a sort of traditional autumn colour.

I see this color due to the popularity of hunting where I live. Lots of camo too, but worn mostly by males, again for hunting. And, most Forest Service employees wear this color, as well as Fish & Game. Finally, there is a Christian Berets camp in my county as well Soldiers of Christ wearing camo and army green.

I doubt any of these groups are wearing army green because it's trending in NYC. (Smile)

Here in NW Tasmania (Australia's island state) it started off brisk and I saw raggy and/or faded blue jeans worn with various shades of grey hoodies. So boring. No colour as the senior citizens hadn't emerged due to the low temps.

I've seen a lot of the color in stores. Can't say that I've noticed an overabundance of it on people out and about. But I've noticed it in stores, because it is one of my favorite neutrals. I've been populating my closet with it since last year, when I started noticing it.

A side note: Having served in the U.S. Army, I avoided all shades of olive for many years. I also thought it was a bad color for me, as a "winter." But a more recent color analysis revealed that there are shades of olive that do work well on me, and so I've been happily reunited with the color. I try to avoid the full-on military look with it, though.

it's the field jacket right? worn with black leggings or skinnies and a beanie on women, and with jeans on men? I mostly see it on suburban younger people and of course there have always been college age and teen kids who wear genuine army surplus. I used to have a trench coat, green cargo pants, and a boiled wool peacoat from army surplus.

Checking in from chilly Toronto. On the street it is black, black, and more black, with hits of red or wine. I posted recently about the fairly conservative store windows in the area where I work (financial district), but today I took half the day off, and since I'm stayin in town tonight (instead of commuting home) I went shopping...6+ hours!

The amount of blush really surprises me, but there was also a lot of tan and beige in store window displays. Jeans too, of course. I did see hits of orange, citron features big, and an icy blue that I am all over this spring! Graphic black and white and navy and white are plentiful as well.

Can't say that I noticed a lot of army green, though.

I stand corrected. In my 5 block walk from office to train, I saw the following items in army green:
9 coats
2 pairs of pants (technically not outer wear, but I was counting everything)
3 scarves
1 hat
1 pair of uggs

Here in Chi-town I do see it a lot, although not as much right now... it's it still far too cold. Give it a couple-teen degrees warmer, and I'll see it all over the place.

I feel like I've moved on from this color and style, but I'm not sure if that's the case in larger cities. I see it often as I live in a big retirement (military) and hunting region so both wear a lot of army colors.

My 13 year old loves that color, and just bought a new pair of pants that are fabulous. She also has an army green spring jacket that she's waiting to break out. It feels a bit like a throwback to the 90s grunge trend (she also wears knit beanies, Brooklyn hipster style). I don't think this makes a trend (my 16 y.o. wants nothing to do with the color), but an observation nonetheless.

An interesting article just popped up in the New York Times that claims, "Every second woman on the avenue and every second man on the town and
every other kid on the jungle gym has his or her back clad in army
green. Challenging the ubiquity of black outerwear in the cities and
lending a flavor of the PX to the suburban shopping center, the color
has conquered the national wardrobe."

This strikes me as odd, because I am in New York City several times a week, and I haven't noticed that much army green or many army jackets lately. I am talking about on the street, in stores and restaurants and theatres, in the subway, anywhere. Maybe that's because it's been too cold. What are you fabbers seeing in your town?

Here's the whole article, if you are interested:
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03.....-garb.html
