Here in Oakland, I've seen about 4 tailor shops close up. Not only that, true shoe cobblers seem to be taking a hit too. I heard on NPR not too long ago that there are only 7,000 shoe cobblers left in the US, down from a high of 70,000+ 60 years ago.
