I notice swelling in the evening and after long flights. Sometimes it can be pretty noticeable - often there's enough fluid that the tops of my socks will cause a noticeable narrowing of the sides of my legs - there's pressure there, and so the fluid can't build up, so I get a little divot. It looks super weird and generally makes me feel like a freak.

Thanks for listening to my strange problem.

You might check with your doctor and see if half an aspirin before bed would help. I have to take aspirin before flights and do ankle and foot exercises to prevent swelling. It generally is troublesome on international flights, 10 hours or more. Flying from Arizona to Michigan doesn't usually bother me.

I also find that my hands are larger- I don't know if swollen is appropriate- when it is warmer. I just have more blood getting to them. So after I get out of a cozy bed my wedding ring is normally tight. After I shower and my hands are back to a normal temp they get a little smaller. When my hands are cold my rings practically slip off.

I have ever so slight swelling in the a.m. of both my hands and feet. It doesn't bother me because I have changed from tight shoes to loose ones over the years, and my feet have spread a lot! I used to wear a 5.5, now I wear a 6.5-7!

My face can also be a little puffy in the a.m. -- does being in a little altitude have anything to do with this? (3000 ft)

My feet are very swollen in the morning. By evening I can literally walk out of some of my shoes! I wonder why that is...The rest of me doesn't swell or bloat! Hmmm:)

I can have swollen fingers in the morning, but don't think my feet are (another sock wearer on cold nights).
I haven't seen a pattern with my feet, so when I'm shoe shopping I must take shoes home and try them on many times over many days to see if they really fit.

I have narrow feet, so I never notice swelling unless I've been walking for many, many hours -- like when we go on vacation and sight-see all day.

I've never suffered with swollen feet. Though I guess I'm destined to, my Nan has terrible swollen legs, ankles and feet and Mum is starting to suffer with swollen ankles. Although I do get my pear shaped build from the females of my Dad's side of the family who don't suffer with swollen legs so fingers crossed I shall follow them x

No, I think my feet are always smallest in the morning (and I sleep with socks). They don't typically swell, but sometimes do get puffy after I have had a very long day of walking. Like Lisa, I always try to try on shoes later in the day, after I have been on my feet.

I don't notice this with my feet, but I do with my fingers. If my rings are snug first thing in the morning, I know I am probably dehydrated and retaining water. So, I drink several mugs of warm water. Tea would also do the trick

Angie, I'm with you. I sometimes have swollen feet in the morning. My ballerina style crocs I wear as shower shoes (I am very weird and use shower shoes in my own shower) are usually tight, but if I have an off day where I don't shower until later the shoes are actually quite loose. My feet also swell if I have abused them with tons of walking or uncomfy shoes. Usually in the evening my feet aren't swollen, they have just spread because the tendons and ligaments have warmed up.

Good morning, Angie!

I'm not sure, actually. I don't wear house slippers and typically don't put on my shoes until an hour and a half after I wake. My feet are more swollen in the evening if I've been standing and walking a lot. They get extremely puffy after air travel - I've learned the hard way that I need to bring a roomy pair of shoes that is practically a size up if I have a long flight.
