I do find that with very bare sandals like these it does depend on your foot shape. The metallic will continue your leg line more than the black will. This is exactly the type of footbed I look for in a sandal. I need that little bit of padding too. And since it's synthetic, it will be easy to wipe clean. There will be so much air circulation with this style that I doubt your feet will get that sweaty anyway. And it's about as far from a granny sandal as you can get. They are not leather, but I have plenty of leather shoes and I'm not even sure I can do this style, so I'm ok with spending a smaller amount on a PVC thong sandal as long as it's comfortable enough -for the first time in years I can say I have a set of three pairs of comfortable sandals that are actually nice looking.
