Just walking down the street or sitting and accidentally rubbing one shoe against the other, will get them dirty. My question is, how OK are you with slightly muddy toes? I don't know how calf hair responds to getting a bit wet, but I suspect that the toes will go gray. If that's part of the look you want, I say go for it. If you want them pristine, maybe not. </p> <p>I have a pair of white leather tall boots that have stayed really white, and I live in drizzly Vancouver. I wear them all the time. But the leather is less likely to absorb dirt. In other words, this is what the cow has to cover itself from all of the elements. So if a cow can withstand rain and snow, then I would think that boots made with the hide would be pretty durable at least in terms of moisture.
