It is about vertical proportion. Something about the 1/3- 2/3 ratio. What this means is you never wear an outfit that cuts you in half. Your jacket and skirt together seem to do that. So to make it look balanced make the skirt shorter in proportion to the jacket. Long over short, or in the case of the sweater over the skirt short over long. I hope this makes sense. Your legs look mile long. I LOVE the outfit with the cardigan, I am not sure about the suit. I think that the shoulders look somehow disproportionate to the skirt. I agree that a higher boot or pump would be a better shoe but that could change if the skirt were a bit shorter. So I think they suit is great as separates, but not great together.
