Kellie, From all of the reading I have done because I have had the same question ,"where to hem a skirt"? It is about vertical proportion. Something about the 1/3- 2/3 ratio. What this means is you never wear an outfit that cuts you in half. Your jacket and skirt together seem to do that. So to make it look balanced make the skirt shorter in proportion to the jacket. Long over short, or in the case of the sweater over the skirt short over long. I hope this makes sense. FYI you might be interested in the http://www.fashionfitformula.com website. I bought the 100.00 info and am finding it to be very helpful. By the way I do like the suit on you the texture looks good on you.

Kellee - the skirt looks great with the blue like the others have said. I can't tell a few things about the jacket which make it suspect = what are the shoulders really like? The sleeve length looks a tad short - for full length jacket sleeves, it should come to the top of your thumb or so. And yes, when the suit is together, I splash of bright/lighter color might help?

I think that the skirt length is fine, although you go an inch or so shorter if you prefer. Your legs look mile long. I think the ankle boots may indeed be the culprit, I'd try low vamp shoes or tall boots.

I think that the skirt could be just a bit shorter with your long legs. I LOVE the outfit with the cardigan, I am not sure about the suit. I think that the shoulders look somehow disproportionate to the skirt. I agree that a higher boot or pump would be a better shoe but that could change if the skirt were a bit shorter. Blue is beautiful on you!!

Kellee, that was a typo - you're 25, not 52, right?

I think the skirt can go up - but just a pinch. Can you pin it up an inch to see what it looks like for comparison?

I am not loving the suit together (I think the coat cuts in the wrong spot to be paired with a pencil), but I adore the outfit the the skirt cardi and belt. So I think they suit is great as separates, but not great together. Though maybe you could try belting the jacket when worn with the skirt.

Perhaps try the skirt with shoes or knee high boots, the ankle boots appear to cut your legs in half possibly causing the shortening effect- just a thought x

Hi ,

I love pencil skirts and being curvy I now know they love me back-Thank you YLF.
With my new full length(reality-LOL)mirror, these skirts look like they shorten my legs rather than lengthen them?
I now appear(to my new eyes) that I have a very long torso?
I know high heels with pencil skirts are killer, but I am not going above 2.5" max. I am 52, been there done that.
So should the length come up to a little above the knee for me?
And what do you think of this BR suit?
Keep it or delete it ? Maybe belt it? :)
Thanks.
