He's been working 90-hour weeks (and I'm not exaggerating) to finish up a show (why is it that they always run behind schedule?), and I've had the triple whammy of digital portfolio application, difficult coursework and mom in hospital. But I just found out my program application was successful, and&nbsp;despite all the distractions of struggling parents, absent husband&nbsp;and all the regular childcare stuff, I'm pulling off top marks. It's not the same thing as being a single mother, of course, but my honey is still appreciative. I think he feels guilty when he's at work all the time. (I appreciate his hard work too, and I think he deserves a new amplifier...lol).</p> <p>Lyn67, I live in Vancouver. It doesn't get all that hot here, except for maybe a month in the 'dog days'&nbsp;summer, when all I wear is flip flops and shorts, and I don't have to go to work. I really like the spiral double zipper. It's just one functional zip, actually, and zips down far enough that they're easy to pull on and off.&nbsp;Actually, one thing I've noticed about footwear in general: if they're easy to take on and off, I'm more likely to wear them. I've got a few pairs of shoes with lots of buckles, but I'm far more likely to reach for ones with <i>one</i> buckle or a zip. So sweet. </p> <p>I spent a long time last year looking for the 'right' heeled sandals -- they had to have wide straps (for reasons of comfort, and also aesthetic preference), have a chunky or wedge heel for walkability, be black and preferably a little edgy (that word is overused, but&nbsp;I don't know a better one). I never did find them. It occurs to me that these booties with cutouts will probably fill that wardrobe spot. They look good with almost everything I own -- pencil skirts, short skirts, full skirts, skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, wide leg jeans -- you name it, they go.
