The only things are my glasses and my wedding band. Otherwise, I wear some type of watch everyday and earrings - though not the same ones. I love the idea of more than one pair of glasses, but I also get prescription sunglasses, so another pair would be too much for me.</p> <p>Rae - now you are a thinking woman !</p> <p>My mom ( and Suze Ormon, who is NOT related to me ) wears the same pair of earrings and watch since I was a child and I find it incredibly comforting. I always thought of prescription glasses as being the kind of thing you only own one pair of, but now I can see the benefit of having several pairs (though my wallet won't hear of it). I guess it comes from the fact that I never thought of them as an accessory before YLF. They were just these boring and ugly things I had to put on my face when I wasn't wearing contacts. </p> <p>So that said, the only thing I wear consistently now are my contacts. I wear rigid lenses so if I don't wear them for an extended amount of time, I have to break them back in and it is a very annoying and uncomfortable process. This past winter was so dry that I couldn't wear them though, and I had to endure that process once again. However, six weeks later and they are as comfy as can be. I don't even notice them and I can't tell you how relieved I am to be wearing them again. I love my specs but I just don't feel as fab in them as I do with contacts. I also don't see as well. My last leather band watch was getting loose in the hole that I use and it was starting to fall off without my even realizing it. Of course with my procrastinating tendencies, I would just find the watch and put it back on. Any hoo, we were at a friend's house and I had just used the restroom and after I stood up, faced the toiilet to turn the flush handle with my left hand, what should decide to fall off and plop into the toilet at that moment...yep, my watch. (Just so you know, my pit stop was only #1 thank goodness.) I debated whether to flush the toilet or not. Horror thoughts of their toilet backing up because of my watch flashed through my mind. I took a quick look under the sink and no cleaning gloves to be found. I didn't even see a toilet brush. So I quickly reached in there grabbed it, wadded it up in a BUNCH of toilet paper and washed my hands for 5 minutes! LOL! When I got home, I threw it away. This really struck me because I have NEVER owned more than one watch at a time - I wear one until it gets lost or ruined, and then replace it with a new one and repeat! </p> <p>This got me to thinking about how there are some items that I wear EVERY day without exception. These are:</p> <p>brown leather and silver fossil watch, since May 2007<br /> brown leather purse/tote, since June 2009<br /> silver cuff bracelet, since March 2010</p> <p>I also have had specific jackets/coats that get worn every day during certain seasons, but the above three are season-less. Not only do I love all three of them, I love the ease of knowing that parts of my wardrobe are set - I don't have to pick out which purse, watch, and bracelet to wear.</p> <p>Do you have every day items? Do they create continuity and simplicity, or stifle creativity and change? </p>
