Wrap shirts! I don't know what it is about my figure, but they always make my torso look short and it looks like breasts are waiting to break free from the confines of the shirt. And if I size up too much it doesn't do much for my waist!

Also, peplum tops! These are starting to come back in style and I just cant imagine what body type they look good on! I can see them working with a pencil skirt maybe, but with anything else I just end up looking like I'm trying to wear a child's dress as a top.

I was just going to post the same question! For me, it's big watches (I have a tiny wrist so they're just uncomfortable) and tailored dress shirts. I just can't seem to keep myself away from those two items even though they don't work on me. Gah!

For me, trying to layer pullover sweaters or sleeveless dresses over button front shirts. It always looks too bulky. Allie at Wardrobe Oxygen even had some tips on how to do it, but it still doesn't work for me.

Gosh, I'm going to have to confess to the blazer one too, now that you put it that way. And I just bought a new black one! Wore it once, then discovered, in the deep recesses of my closet, an almost exact match to it that I obviously haven't worn in years! But I love the look of them....

I'm also in rediscovery mode, so maybe my inner style goddess will love them...

Loose, drapey clothes. Just makes me look like a blob. Not good.

Also, I think a lot of tops are being cut with larger, wider neck openings lately and while I like a good boatneck, these wide neck tops make my shoulders looked sloped. My shoulders are sloped from scoliosis so that seals it.

Anna, thought provoking question! Sorry about the high contrast raglan... I understand why you would want to sport it. But it does emphasize the shoulders, and arms as well. They usually are dark in the trunk, light on the arms... but if it were the opposite, it would maybe work for you.

Velvety, LOL. I am so sorry that you have to endure those cardigans. How about trying them as a top instead of a toper (wearing some cami or underwear slip cami type or tee-shirt type underneath), like Angie did a while back, wearing them front side back? It might not work with all, but it may help you get some wear out of some...

Suz, do you mean Diana (a member) or Lady Di? It's too bad because I agree, you would look pretty in whimsical style although it doesn't fit your actual style at all... your style is much crisper, more dynamic, and uncluttered for this. It's funny how we long for things that aren't us.

Janet, I think we are physical opposites.

I am like Lyn. Pants, and especially, like Vildy, low rise pants... I would love, love to look like ... (and here you will know just how old I am) ... a 14 yr old Brooke Shield in her Calvin Klein, (I know they are jeans but I am imagining fitting dress pants like this).

And then loose, wide legged pants! (see pic) The dream of my life, which will never be quite possible with my body type: long torso short legs.

Pretty much anything with volume. I guess my shape likes a more structured, form fitting shape.

Also, not sure how to describe them, but I have tried on / ordered too many tops lately that do not have a fitted sleeve. Rather, there is extra fabric around the shoulder / arm hole and it just hangs there, making me look bigger than I am. Oh, here is the cut of the top I am talking about.

I can't tolerate low rise pants. They make me look stunted plus they slip down constantly without a tight belt. And then I can't wear a belt where I want one. I catch myself trying to talk myself into making them work "this time" but recently I have gotten really good at
ignoring this advice and leaving them in the store.

I also can't stand how I look in blouses with jumper dresses (not sweater dresses).
Although it occurs to me that perhaps if the sleeve were slim and dark and the dress
light, it might work.

There are special shoulder pads for raglan sleeves. I use them all the time to
improve the line.

Mine is jersey knit dresses that wrap or drape. I keep trying but they still look like they are on the hanger when on my body.

Oversized, long and chunky cardigans. I feel matronly and look like a pinhead. Something about the ones I've tried make my upper body look disproportionally large compared to my head. Yet I persist, despite this AND despite the fact I have to grandpa-ish/boyfriend-ish cardigans in my closet that I don't wear. It's the mysterious pull of the cardigan ...

Oh, Angie - I love your attitude. That is how I need to try on bras. "Just for fun."

Anna, there are tons of styles I try and try, but just don't work. Lots of arty eclectic looks with draping, a la Diana....love it, but it just doesn't seem to work with the lines of my body or something. Ends up looking and feeling weird.
