I think that even the larger ones, as long as they are tasteful, will be timeless.</p> <p>A book I read talked about sizing accessories, and one of the tips given for picking the size of earrings was to look at your face and pick a feature--say, your nose or your eyes--and then try to replicate the exact size of the feature in the earring. You can rotate the feature if necessary. So, in the hoops scenario, you could maybe get hoops that are the same length as your nose or that are equivalent to the width of one of your eyes or the width of your mouth.
