I think blazers in and of themselves are classic and will always be in style. Certain details and "tweaks" will change with the styles and seasons though.

Oh yes! Maybe the length, cut, etc. will change (of course it will!), but they will always be in style IMO.

Yes! We are body type twins by the way (or quads with Raisin and lyn*). I agree that it depends on how trendy they will be in the future. I wouldn't buy more than I could wear out in a few years though, in case you feel like moving on to something else.

I actually have a hard time styling blazers with dresses (okay so I hardly have any dresses--that might be my problem). I'd love to see pictures of you in yours! After a week or so you can post pictures directly on the forum.

Here's the key: blazers will always be in style. Always. They will not, however, always be trendy. If you got for a classic look, stock up on the blazers. But if you want to follow the latest trends, you won't want so many.

I too think they will always be in style. The shape and cut will vary but there will always be a place in everyones closet for one or maybe a few.

I think blazers will always be 'in' - their life just depends on the cut of them, and to extent, the colour. I have a neon pink blazer, and I know it's lifespan will be much shorter than my tweed brown one button one which is tailored to fit my shoulders. :)

I'm about your size and I also do the blazer + dress thing a lot; I almost never buy the matching skirt. Matchy-matchy = ew in my books!

Haha,....yes I'm pretty sure they are very much in style. I'm built similar to you and I agree they are nice to build up our shape! And I agree they are a nice fresh alternative to a cardigan.

I bought a bunch new brightly colored blazers this winter, and I generally wear them over dresses of all kinds for work. I wear this combo instead of the matching skirt/blazer combo or even the pantsuit. I am very skinny, and medium-tall (5'7 1/2, 115 lbs), and I feel like my frame needs variety to break up the angular and long lines.

I am wondering how long jackets will be in style, I am deciding if I need a blazers in 7 colors, if they will look passé in two years. For example, cardigans seem overdone, will jackets go the way of the cardigan?
