I normally wear GAP pj's to bed (they are very soft and comfy and the cropped length is perfect length for me), but these past few months, with all the hot flashes and premenopausal bloating, I started wearing the GAP tanks with my hubby's cotton boxers!! He has a huge collection with fun prints, they are all broken in and soft (NOT grotty or raggedy), and the waistband is much more generous.

He thinks I look sexy in them. Go figure!

Those printed lacy items are quite jazzy. They've GOT to be better than your partner's cast-off undies! Ye gods woman! You don't have to look like Victoria Beckham at a Grand Event, but please don't wear grotty old bloke's underwear! "Mature women" can wear prints or anything they like to bed - but it's much better for the psyche if we wear something that's half nice.....

I think those PJ's are just fabulous!

Me? Well, lounge wear is yoga pants and hoodies (plain old navy blue or black). I think the PJ's you've linked to are gorgeous - and I think you should get them!

I totally understand where you're coming from. I like to look cute when I'm lounging and in bed, too! And I agree with Joy, I figure that my partner deserves me to look nice just as much as a guest would.

I'm also most comfy in pants and a tank when in bed. Gap and Old Navy are favorite place of mine to find great PJs. I think the top and pants you picked out would be super comfy and still "nice" (vs raggedy, old clothes).

The loungewear you posted is just beautiful! Go for it! While others may not see your loungewear, it's still important to look good for your husband and kids. After all, that's a strong image of you in their mind if they see you daily in lounge clothes.

I think sleepwear/loungewear is definitely something only you can pick for yourself. You know what you feel the best in, so definitely go with that. Best can mean comfort or how you feel about yourself.

I love that I am having so many women defend me in my boxers=) However, I feel silly, I want to look like a grown sexy woman. I have been on the other side a little too long. I feel like I need an after work pick me up, and putting on something pretty always helps.

I don't think it matters what you wear to bed as long as you're comfy and if you're comfy in your husbands boxers i'd stick with that x
Here's a blog post on the topic

I draw the line at telling people what to wear to bed and fretting over it myself. I can't think about being stylish 24/7 or I would implode. Sleepytime is my time to be totally liberated. If anyone comes and insults me or judges me over my choice of pajamas, they have a screw or two loose.

I do have some "nice" pajamas that I would wear if I were staying at someone's house, but that's it.

I think an adult woman can wear whatever she wants to bed. :)
My lounge wear is strictly lounge wear - I don't even check the mail in it. I tend to wear boyshorts and camis during the summer, and sweats and a hoody in the winter. In the fall I'll wear a long sleeve henly with boyshorts or knee length shorts.
Nobody sees them and they're comfy and I don't feel frumpy.
When I go to my in-laws house, I wear coordinating shorts pajamas and bring a robe if I want. In the winter I wear my AE sweats. Appropriate, clean, put together, not too expensive, and comfortable.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad to know I am not alone in the men's underwear club=)
I guess as far as the prints go, I think of my daughter pj's when I think of prints on pj's. Normally I think I stay away from prints for this reason, but I think I am ready to branch out!

I'm sorry but I had to laugh when you said you adopted a habit of wearing your husbands old underware for lounge clothes. That is hysterical to me. It does sound comfy and I can see the allure for that reason. I sometimes wear equally bad lounge wear but I just had to laugh about the boxers. You are not the first person I've heard this from either, so don't feel all alone.
As for the lounge wear you posted a link for, OMG they are gorgeous. When I saw the first picture with the short shorts I thought they were not so appropriate for a boyfriends parents house like the ad says, but when I clicked on the next link I could see the long pants being much more modest, and gorgeous fabric.
I'm not Angie, but I don't understand your question about adult women wearing prints to bed. Are you not a print gal?

Since my husband and I got married I have developed a terrible habit. I am wearing his boxer shorts, and tee shirts to bed, and to lounge in. I will be the first to admit that they look terrible!
I put them on as soon as it is time to go chill out, and I find myself feeling embarrassed when I am watching Project Runway, and wearing men's old underwear. So right here and now, I vow to only wear cute loungewear!
I wanted a designer line, and I found these Claire Pettibone yoga pants, and tee. I am a pants, and tank kinda girl, so I think are really cute, but I need your help. Can adult women wear prints to bed?
I have copied in the link, I want to get these today if we can all agree. I have to stop with the old undies;)
