The boots were still almost $500. But I have 11.75" calves, and finding boots to fit is nearly impossible. I have had calves altered by cobblers, but the quality of the alteration isn't as good as right off the rack. I also wanted dark brown boots, which are tough to find too. So I felt like this would be my only chance for a high-quality dark brown&nbsp;knee-high boot that fits.</p> <p>I don't stalk high-end designer stuff often enough to know if this is considered a good price for an Aquatalia. I will say that I wear size 6.5, which is one of the first sizes to sell out in any shoe. So I don't know that I would ever have gotten them at clearance prices.
