But, it isn't too much of a problem since I live in Colorado and the only place I see water is at the pool-- all of which are indoors except the local hot springs. I love to swim and I am a fish, but I stick to my TYR lap suits. If I do go to the lake or hot springs, I throw on board shorts and even a baby t or rashguard. I'm only 5'5" but have a long torso/long rise/high waist.</p> <p>I've also had good luck finding cute, flattering printed Speedo swimsuits at Costco around this time of year. (Not just in the basic workout tank shape, either. I have had Miracle suits before--I didn't think they came in long. I'll check all the links. I almost bought a long torso from J Crew a couple of years ago online, but hesitated too long and most of the long ones were gone.</p> <p>Several years ago there was a store in Valley Fair that advertised custom made suits. You went in and tried out all different parts and they came up with a model for you, then you picked a fabric. Well, they were out of the fabric I wanted, so I got a print that was too bright. Also, the fit wasn't any better than some of the ready-made suits. That store is long gone anyway. </p> <p>This is one area where I know the stores will run out early, so I need to move quickly. Can't stand to try them on in the stores anymore--so depressing. </p> <p>Oh, and Queen Mum--I agree with your sentiments. I did get an email from my son in Chicago yesterday--he said they had several inches of snow on the ground. But knowing, last year, that we were going to be spending summer time back home in cottage country meant I NEEDED a bathing suit--arrggg. One day at the mall I took a demoralizing look into a bathing suit store and saw there was a tall like me sales lady behind the desk------I stewed over it for the rest of the mall crawl then went in only because she was there. And she was great--she basically eliminated 99% of the store for me coz she got my problem--built like a tall plank. I have been a bikini girl all my life but this suit covers without looking matronly. It doesn't cut into my thigh/butt too much like Speedo either. Holds up great for laps. I'm super fortunate to have such a store near me, and in the staff's capable hands the process is *almost* painless, but I realize places like this are few and far between.
