Great thread!

I adore laneige water pak , so better than the amore pacific moisture gel. I've been using the sulwhasoo essentials line (serum, water, emulsion and ginseng cream) then slathering on laneige --which has been great for my eczema. I use laneige whenever I need a hit of moisture, even during the day.

Dermatologica daily scrub is good tho not indispensable ...got as a sample but don't miss now that I'm out.

For the winter, I use to use eucerin hyaluron day cream. It comes in a night version tho too rich for my skin. I get it thru Amazon from a French e-tailer. I still use it on my elevenses to plump out the cracks and delay Botox.

Still searching for my dewy sheer full coverage tinted moisturizer/bb cream that does not make me break out or look like an oil spill or the Sahara.

The Maybelline baby lips look right up my alley - I like a bit of color but nothing too fussy for everyday.

Anne, there's a mascara out that's called Better than Sex mascara - made me laugh when I heard about it. I mean, that's a pretty high bar to set for cosmetics, right? K, thanks for the Ceramidin rec - sounds interesting.

KL, in the winter when I need something a bit heavier, I've been using Eucerin Redness Relief night cream, with occasional nights of Kiehl's Midnight Recovery concentrate (really works but I hate the smell, although some people love it). A facial oil might be a good option - I tried a sample of Josie Maran argan oil light recently and it was nice and not too greasy.

Deb, I read a bunch of Caroline's blog recently - she's really into the acid toners and I keep on trying the Pixi Glow tonic but so far it's been meh on me. I wonder if I'm too sensitive for it? The Paula's Choice BHA also did zilch for me, and it's another one that almost everyone loves.

Wow, the spreadsheet link is full of great info. Silicone based products make my skin turn red and the lists will help in future purchases. I use the fab facial radiance pads. They are recommended by Caroline Herons. I alternate every other night with the Cane & Austin Miracle pads. These acid toners have made a world of difference in the effectiveness of the serums I use. You can see Caroline's reviews here.

Thanks for the reviews; I enjoy reading them! Trying new beauty products can be a lot of fun.

I have problems with silicones too. I recently tried some Jane Iredale primer and mineral foundation, and by the end of the day, I had a huge, nasty zit! I don't usually get pimples, so I think it was the primer. Both the primer and the foundation have dimethicone, but I think the primer probably gets in your pores more and forms more of a seal than the mineral powder. I tried the mineral powder separately and didn't have any problems. I do like how the powder has SPF 20 in it.

Ohh! So much fun to read you reviews. I too have had zero luck with First Aid Beauty. I've tried several things and just no luck. And it gets such great reviews! But each time I've tried it, it just irritated my skin.

For me, I am ridiculously infatuated (no, the infatuation is entirely justified actually so strike ridiculously) with the Ceramidin liquid, which makes my reactive skin so much happier. It is like magic. I actually introduced my sister to the balm because she has really really dry rosacea prone skin (unlike my breakout prone super sensitive skin). She forgot about it and then called me months later to tell me that she needed to know the name of that stuff I'd given her because it was miraculous. This is my sister who only buys drug store stuff and she was making a special trip to Sephora to pick it up because she'd run out. So, that's my magic item of the moment.

Thank you for the reviews! Do you have any recommendations for nighttime moisturizer? I'm on the market (currently using Cerave PM, which I like a lot but actually use as a daytime moisturizer layered with sunscreen--I want something heavier for night). I tried Origins but returned it because it felt a little greasy on my face and didn't make my skin softer at all like the Sephora rep claimed.

I second the Maybelline lip butter in cherry!

I'm about a month in using Charlotte Tilbury's Wonderglow: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ch.....sh/3849050 and so far ... it's okay. I'm not sure it lives up to the hype. It does NOT irritate my skin and certainly leaves a subtle bit of sparkle, but I can't say it makes an enormous difference in my complexion (which is pretty good), i.e. glowing, etc. When it's gone, I'll probably try one of the Laura Mercier tinted illuminating products.

I AM totally loving the Charlotte Tilbury Swish & Pop Blush in Love Glow (gah, I wish the make-up companies would get over the $#x names) http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/ch.....=keywordse I love it more than the infamous NARS Orgasm (there were go again). It's softer, subtler and is a great match to my cheek color after exercising. It lasts, too.

ETA: I heartily recommend the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, too: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/de.....rsonalized I've used it for several years almost nightly after cleansing with Cetaphil. I can tell a difference in my skin when I don't use it. Keeps my skin smooth and helps decrease the look of my pores.

Also thanks for the info on the silcones.

I've tried a few of those Revlon lip butters and have had a mixed bag there. Out of, like, 5 that I've tried only one was excellent and the others were either drying or so waxy that the color migrated immediately. Tough! For the sheerest of colors I like the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms; I use the Peach, Cherry, and Grape.

I'm quite frustrated with some products I've used for years like Rimmel Fix n Perfect primer bring discontinued. Now all the BB's and primers are hit n miss. I understand the silicone feel as well. Thanks again.

I draft these as I use stuff and I hadn't realized I'd tried so many new products this month! Maybe I have a problem... Please share your own reviews too.

Tarte BB tinted ‘primer’ with SPF (Ulta)
They call this a primer but I suspect most people use this as a BB cream/tinted moisturizer on its own. This was a mixed bag for me. It’s very silicone-y in feel, which is not my favorite. It didn’t stay put if I used it over a primer or sunscreen, but it does OK if put straight onto clean skin, and kind of patted into place rather than smoothed on like a lotion. It emphasized any dry flaky bits of skin I had, so you definitely need to have your skin in good shape before you use it. The color match to my skin is really good, so I’ll keep trying to figure out how best to use it.
I’ve also realized that silicone-heavy products almost always make me break out afterward (not major hormonal acne, just a bunch of little whiteheads). I can see how if your skin can handle silicones, then this is a great option because you can use it and then a little bit of concealer or foundation on top if you need it. It’s too bad this doesn’t really work for me, because the color match to my skin is really good. I would still use this for special occasions as a primer, because it does seem to help makeup last, and then clean my face really well afterward.

Speaking of silicone, and side note on First Aid Beauty hydrating serum (mentioned in last set of reviews):
After I found that the FAB hydrating serum didn’t work with my everyday foundation, I went off on a research binge about silicones. It seems like almost everything has silicones in it now - not just primer, but also moisturizer and foundation/bb cream. I found this helpful discussion of water-based versus silicone-based products, and this user-contributed database of products. One of the complicated things is that there can be silicones in a water-based product, lower down on the ingredient list, but if there’s a silicone in the first four or five listed it’s probably silicone-based. The Laura Mercier oil-free tinted moisturizer I use most days is water-based (the LM version that’s not oil-free is silicone-based, to add to the confusion) which is why the serum wasn’t working under it. It occurred to me that I might be able to use it as an eyeshadow primer, and it does work really well for that (there aren’t many pores on the eyelid so I haven’t had any breakout problems yet). I wouldn’t have bought it just for that, but now that I have it I might as well use it for something.

OGX Coconut milk shampoo & conditioner (drugstore.com)
I mentioned these in my last review post when I’d just started using them. It’s been over a month now and I'm going to use up the bottles but I don't plan to rebuy. Solid B-, nice but not amazing.

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask & Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask (Target).
So apparently Laneige is the budget line for Amore Pacific, a high-end Korean skincare brand, and Target has recently started carrying it in the US. They had a trial size kit of two of their masks for five bucks, so I figured it was worth a try. The multiberry yogurt mask is a traditional mask that you leave on for a few minutes and then rinse off. It literally smells just like fruit yogurt, which honestly I found a little unnerving. I didn’t notice either any bad reactions or any significant improvement after using it. The water sleeping mask is a leave-on night treatment, and I was more impressed with it - it was moisturizing and seemed to improve texture without causing breakouts. It wasn’t a jaw-dropping improvement, though, so I am not rushing out to buy a full-size container. I might try some of their other products, though.

Revlon colorburst lip butter in juicy papaya and pink truffle (Ulta)
Still on the search for my holy grail everyday lip color. The pink truffle is very close to a long-discontinued shade at Boots No 7 that I loved and used until it ran out. But the texture of these is a bit drying.

FAB redness relief serum (Sephora)
Ever since FAB launched they’ve gotten a lot of good reviews, but I’m still waiting to find a product that really impresses me. The cleanser is nice, but cleansers are on your face for a minute before they’re washed off. Leave-on products have a lot more impact on your skin. They also seem to like to call products serums that aren’t really serums. The hydrating serum from my last review is really a primer, not a serum. This is really a moisturizer, not a serum. A decent moisturizer, that hasn’t caused any negative reactions on my skin, but it’s heavy enough that I wouldn’t use it in the morning, since it doesn’t have SPF and I’d have to add another layer of sunscreen on top. And I’ve got plenty of options for nighttime moisture. I didn’t notice any particular lessening of redness - I think Eucerin’s redness relief line is better, and cheaper besides.

Bumble & bumble Don’t blow it (Sephora)
This is a cream for air drying hair, as you might guess from the name. I used it once and returned it - it has alcohol in it which does help hair dry faster but it's also really drying and resulted in really lank hair. Disappointing.
