I'm glad there were no injuries or people/pets lost. It's a terrible trauma to lose the security of your home. The house across the street from me burned completely to the ground 16 months ago and my dear friend and neighbor is still trying to cope with the aftermath. Her positive attitude and flexibility have helped. It sounds like you will be able to salvage some items. We have good friends who experienced homelessness for probably a year and a half after their apartment suffered a fire. They owned the apartment, and had to do a complete renovation, so they had no choice. It was truly traumatic; almost all their possessions were gone, too, but the three and their dog were safe, things eventually got fixed, and they finally moved back into a much more beautiful, gorgeous space. So I know you can overcome this.
