Casual? Trendy? I very, very rarely shop at Express (I'm trying to buy better quality) but I've been looking for a just throw it on, weekend-type jacket for a long time. It's cotton - so it's very casual - and it's fairly low-key - the buttons don't scream "MILITARY!!!" It's got a nice shape. I still have the tags on, but I'm thinking it might be a keeper. (The olive color is really nice, too. But of course, I bought the black.)
