At first I was confused about why you didn't want any sleeves for autumn, but then I read about jacket layering issues. :)</p> <p>Here in south Texas, it often stays hot through October, so I try not to dwell on autumn, even though it's my favourite season. With any luck I'll have moved up north in time to get a real fall! As far as the closet goes though, I am thinking about cooler weather by trying out some knee high boots (one of my pairs needs to be replaced) now, when they're all on sale. And I do have a couple autumnal jackets I'm considering at the moment. Now I've switched over completely, and have no interest in adding anything to my summer wardrobe even though there are a few things still on my list.</p> <p>I found two fantastic pairs of booties, slightly taller than ankle length. One black, one saddle brown. I'm hoping that the black pair will fit the lace-up moto-style boot hole that I was unable to fill last year. The brown pair will replace a pair of "nude" booties that killed my shins.</p> <p>I also added two pairs of white jeans, because I love the look of white jeans in winter!</p> <p>I'd love a dramatic, full skirt, but have yet to find the right one. Also, last year, I hardly wore skirts, so maybe I won't bother. I just "retired" 20 items (from both seasons) yesterday to make room for some fresh things. Some that I ordered from the NAS to try, and I will also need a few more.&nbsp;</p> <p>I want a new pair of taupe booties if I can find some I like. Cognac boots or booties would also be great. And maybe a cognac bag.&nbsp;</p> <p>A new winter coat to add to my capsule would be fantastic; my coats are all three to four years old now and I would like another in the rotation to add variety.&nbsp;</p> <p>A new topper of some kind is required -- a patterned jacket. I have a second order coming from NAS with brown jeans and another sweater. I have been driving DH crazy. He is a total summer man -- the hotter the better, loves to sail and be on the water. Me? I like a week of summer on the beach, and then I am done. I have very few items that are summer only, and right now I am generally culling and trying to see what I need /want for fall and winter. I've recently purchased a few things (NAS and elsewhere) -- including burgundy pony hair Okalas, brand-new on ebay last night for $30!!!</p> <p>I am also waiting for Angie to do a fall trend review, which I know will raise some desires in me. I still have a very sparse wardrobe and a new style shift, so I'm looking to purchase items (mainly tops) that are "seasonless" from now until September. Here's my breakdown: </p> <p>Items I'm swapping out/storing for next year:<br /> - any top that has sleeves (excludes sweaters and my black fitted top)<br /> - vests</p> <p>Items I'm keeping<br /> - all sleeveless tops (for layering under toppers)<br /> - tube skirts<br /> - LBD + cobalt dress</p> <p>Items I'm adding from storage<br /> - sweaters<br /> - sweater dress</p> <p>Items I need to purchase<br /> - replacement for my waxed denim skinnies (is thus still on trend?)<br /> - better jeans<br /> - tunic length toppers<br /> - more sleeveless tops<br /> - sweaters</p> <p>Items I'm donating<br /> - the "peplum" tunic. </p> <p>As you can see, I'm keeping almost all my summer purchases for the fall season, except for sleeved tops (annoying to wear with jackets) and vests. From now until September, I will purchase only sleeveless tops that will transition well in the remaining seasons. From October onwards, I'll focus on the toppers and jeans. I may hold off on sweaters until December (I'm still getting used to wearing them). </p> <p>What about you? Are you thinking about your fall wardrobe yet? Any ideas where I can draw inspiration for fall? </p>
