I don't know anyone who's had it either. I started halfheartedly looking at non surgical procedures for jowl tightening but quickly got dissuaded by all the not-so-encouraging reports. That's really the only part of me that I would love to change right now. For all my angst about my cellulite and my thighs, I have never been tempted by liposuction. My BFF is a surgeon and explained the procedure to me, which pretty much turned me off for life! I guess I'll just have to make peace with my aging jawline...and eventually everything else!

I do the omnicentric, and I really love it - although I am not as disciplined with it, as I should/could be. I tend to do it for about 3-4 workouts, then find something else to do, swim, yoga, or go to a dance class. I've gained a few pounds this summer, so I my belly is a little poochy, but overall, I feel really happy with how I look. I have never felt this relaxed in my own skin. Not in my teens, twenties, or thirties.

Kary, I'm glad you're rethinking surgery - but if you do decide to try it, I'm rooting for you! Someone close to me had some work done, about a year and a half ago, and I can still see the happiness and the confidence in that person's face.

LBD, I have super great abs. They are just covered with a layer of fat and loose skin. I decided to suck it up and skip any body procedures or surgery.

Hey LBD I just checked out the videos you mentioned. Which set do you use if you don't mind me asking? I'm overweight so it's hard to decide which centric I am. I'm guessing the all over one?

Karymk, if you are able to exercise, I highly recommend the Tracy Anderson Metamophosis workout. I do the all-over one, and the change in my abs and arms has really astounded me. I think there is an 'ab-centric' workout as well. It is a cheaper alternative to surgery for sure!

I've heard of it, but never encountered anyone who has done it. I'm sympathetic, though. I always think you look great in the pictures you post. But I know it's very easy to have one spot on yourself you just don't feel good about. In my case it's chin droop/jowl. It doesn't matter what other people say, it still bugs me. And as we get past the age (I'm going on 48) where everything has to be all about putting kids and family first all the time, I think there's a benefit to doing things that make you feel good about yourself -- whether that's clothes, or spa, or exercise or cosmetic procedures. I live in an area where all these things like coolsculpt are not really available, or I'd be all over them. My issues would be: does it work, what does it cost and what kind of down time from work would there be?

Karymk, you ARE fab. Just be sure to check really carefully any possible adverse effects and balance out really well the pros and the cons.

I keep making an appointment, then chickening out. I wish I could just accept the bulge, but I am in such good shape otherwise that it really bothers me to have the fatty pooch. Part of me wants to give myself grace after having and raising three children and the vain part wants to be FAB after fifty.

I've been looking into the same thing. There are many procedures available. I'm sure some work and some don't.

I had an abdominal muscle harvesting procedure done about 14 years ago because they needed it to reconstruct something else ... I call that my "tummy tuck" although it's more like "tummy sag" because I don't have that muscle there anymore.

I don't think the scars are very noticeable 14 years later. They were probably pretty noticeable up until year 7 or 8.

I want to do something about my loose lower abdomen after having three babies. It's not horrific, but just enough to make my pants a struggle sometimes. Most of the time I have a bulge or muffin top above my pants that bugs me, because I otherwise feel in shape enough to wear what I want.I don't want a tummy tuck because of the scar, and I 've read good things about the new fat freezing Cool Sculpt procedure.

I had a consult with my dermatologist and she says her patients love it, that it really eliminates fat. The only thing is that after it takes full effect (two to four months) many women feel they need skin tightening procedures to get a really taught tummy. That's a big investment. Nonsurgical options do not come cheap.

Have you tried it? Or had a tummy tuck? I would be so happy to hear your experience!
