I'm sure some of that is just letting my eye adjust.&nbsp;Today I swore I would wear these straight leg jeans at their full length -- but by the time I left the house I'd gone back to rolling them up.</p> <p>But for dress slacks, I've found that full length is a much better look on me. This is what I do in the winter. I also like wide leg full-length pants with flats. But I can wear my ankle-length pants with any shoes. It is easier to style. I hemmed a lot of my pants to the ankle or about 1” above the ankle. I’m 5’3 and too long pants that pool at the bottom used to an issue for me. In part because, as another short person with short legs, the ankle pants I bought just look full length on me, and I would have to hem them to get them to look cropped. Now, I already spend a small fortune hemming all sorts of pants (wide-legs and even full-length skinnies), so I am not very keen on paying yet again to get the cropped look. I don't particularly like how it looks on me, and I get cold easily, so breezy ankles don't appeal to me.</p> <p>I adore full-length pants and I am in love with the trend of exaggeratedly long hems (although it's impossible for me to use it, what with walking outside on real-live sidewalks and all).</p> <p>Having said this, and somewhat contradicting myself, I actually have been pining for a pair of cropped wide-leg wool pants to wear in winter with opaque tights and booties or oxfords (see Finds below--but I still haven't actually found a good pair to buy). But they are a very specific kind of cropped pant, actually a bit shorter than ankle-length and perhaps more like gauchos, almost like a midi-skirt with legs. And why? Partly because the silhouette looks edgy and interesting, and partly because I am SOOOOO TIREEED of wearing skinnies tucked into boots during this interminable and snowy winter.
